LAW OFFICES OF ROBERT L. FIRTH w/ Robert Firth re: 68910 Adelina Road, Cathedral City, CA. 92234.
– QUESTIONS from Joey Pals.
1. Is LEGAL AID good to use and reputable? (Lawyers w/ legal aid get good trial experience. They are overburdened w/ a heavy case load.)
2. Define “defamation” (Two kinds; libel is written and slander is spoken. It is false information to a 3rd party to harm a reputation.)
3. Does the Association of American Law Schools demand that an attorney graduate from an ABA accredited law school? (Not the rule. Not the same in every state. CA. for instance does not have this rule.)
– FOCUS OF ROBERT’S PRACTICE.
1. Personal bankruptcy. There are lots of chapters in personal bankruptcies. Either Chapter 7 where you get all your debts discharged as long as you get rid of all the secured items. Mortgages also. You CANNOT discharge student loans, judgements against you from a DUI, or a tort, or last 3 years of income taxes. Or a Chapter 13 where if you make more than the median income in CA ($70,000/yr for a single person) you MUST do a 13. A Chapter 13 has a payment plan.
2. BK will be on your FICA for 10 years.
– REPORT that when you file a Chapter 7 Robert can get you a 700 credit score in a year if you do what he says.

– Cont. QUESTIONS from Joey Pals.
4. If you have an old trust, how do you update it? (You can go back to the lawyer who wrote it in the first place, if a lawyer DID write it. Otherwise, you should just start over w/ a lawyer who specializes in this service. Remember, Para Legals CANNOT give legal advice. In some cases, just need an amendment. Living trust for a single person in $2800. Living trust for a married couple is $3,000.)
– REPORT that if you go to Robert’s website there is a great webinar on living trusts!!!!
