– REPORT on Sister Cities a 501 C3 tax-exempt public charity dedicated to promoting global goodwill, citizen diplomacy, international exchange, and cultural understanding for the people of Palm
Springs.
– REPORT that Sister Cities is in 300 communities in the U.S. and 150 countries.
– REPORT that in Feb.,2023 mayors of both cities signed a Sister Cities International Agreement between San Miguel de Allende and Palm Springs.
– REPORT that San Miguel de Allende was voted #1 City IN THE WORLD to visit by Conde Nast.
– DISCUSSION that there will be a focus on 1. Education and youth. 2. Cultural initiatives.
– REPORT on how a “Sister City” is picked. The two existing Sister Cities that Palm Springs has.
– REPORT that Mayor De Harte is going to San Miguel in August.
– DISCUSSION of what citizens of Palm Springs will get when they travel to San Miguel. The Chamber of San Miguel will “spoil” you.
– HOLD THE DATE; for the Culinary Event in San Miguel called “Your Flavors” food and wine festival the end of June in partnership w/ COD’s culinary school w/ exchange of students from San Miguel’s culinary school.
