1. What’s going on with real estate, I’m scared? (Good reason to be concerned. Buyers are still buying IF a property matches a buyers specific needs. The masses are no longer lining up to buy the way they were.)
– REPORT that if you are thinking about selling, you must have a property that looks great and is priced BELOW the perceived value. Otherwise buyers were wait for the market to slow down.
– REPORT that we WILL NOT HAVE A CRASH but will have a significant REDUCTION in the number of buyers. Therefore pricing declines will show up. The Market WILL NOT DETERMINE the outcome, but it will tell you what to do DIFFERENTLY to get the outcome you want in the timeframe you want.

– REPORT that Eisenhower Health was most recently recognized by Mended Hearts as regional, division and national Hospital of the Year. One of our cardiac nurses, Alyssa Baldi was also recognized as Mended Hearts regional Nurse of the Year.
– REPORT on the mission statement of Mended Hearts. It has been around 70 plus years. Began on the East Coast. Needed a support group for folks who had open heart surgery in the beginning….then expanded it to all heart issues.
– REPORT that in 2001 a chapter formed in the Coachella Valley to speak to anyone who has had a heart procedure. ALL THESE VOLUNTEERS are called “accredited visitor” and have had a heart procedure themselves.
– REPORT that there are 11 Volunteers who are accredited now.
– DISCUSSION of Bill’s experience and his family history.
– REPORT from Scott, who is an RN, that in his 35 years of doing this, it is the first time to be associated w/ such a top, award-winning hospital as EH.
– DISCUSSION from Scott about his 325 health-care heroes that come to work every day to help “mend the broken hearts” of patients AND THEIR FAMILIES.
– REPORT that they come into the mix before and after the surgery. The Staff is grateful and thankful to be w/ these patients as part of a National Peer Support Program.

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN w/ Kathi Farber re: President of A.A.U.W.
– REPORT on the Mission Statement: to advance gender identity of women and girls through research, education and advocacy. This is achieved through a variety of programs.
– DISCUSSION of how A.A.U.W. started in Boston by 5 women in 1881 who wanted to empower women.
– REPORT that A.A.U.W is a national grass-roots organization.
– REPORT that the local chapter was founded in Jan., of 1948 and now serves all 9 cities in the Coachella Valley. The main program is Tech/Treck/Stem (Science, technology, engineering and math) started in CA. over 20 years ago. Now in 9 different states. For young girls who will be entering 8th grade in the Fall.
– REPORT that the STEM camp is for a week in the summer and the girls are emersed in these activities.
– DISCUSSION that A.A.U.W. is looking for new volunteer members, since most of their current members are retired. There’s an active alumni group.
– DISCUSSION of how to join thru the website.
– HOLD THE DATE: Jan., 13, 2024 @ Desert Willow Country Club in Palm Desert for the 75th Anniversary Celebration. $60. Includes lunch.
