Desert Oasis Healthcare Segment “The Medicine Cabinet” Segment – August 7, 2021

09:00 – 10:00 AM

Hour 1 Seg 2 – Desert Oasis Healthcare Segment “The Medicine Cabinet”

DESERT OASIS HEALTHCARE w/ Dr. Brian Hodgkins re: Executive V.P. of Clinical Operations @ D.O.H.C.; 275 El Cielo Rd., Palm Springs, 92262. “Your Health, Your Life, Our Passion”. Leads the COVID-10 Taskforce.
– REPORT that we are in our 74th week of Pandemic.
– DISCUSSION that the discussion should be about the vaccine, not the masks.
– REPORT that the stats in the Desert are in the 4th SURGE. WE ARE BACK IN THE RED TIER!!! Hospitals are filling up w/ 95% UNVACCINATED COVID-19 patients. Mostly the Delta Variant.
– REPORT that there is no cure for the virus, the best protection is the vaccine.
– REPORT that all have to mask in Palm Springs inside, whether vaccinated or not.
– STATEMENTS/QUESTIONS FROM “JOEY PALS”
1. Is the vaccine completely approved by the FDA? (Not FDA licensed yet, but they have all the evidence. Doesn’t change anything, but the conversation. It will be official by Labor Day. 160 million Americans have been vaccinated)
2. It seems that vaccinated folks are more concerned than the unvaccinated people. (This evidence is actually published. Yes. Take their role seriously to protect others.)
– DISCUSSION AGAIN that if you ARE vaccinated you; Will not get seriously ill. Will not get hospitalized. Will not get dead.
– REPORT that the people who are dying of Covid NOW are unvaccinated. 70% of hospitalized patients are unvaccinated.
3. Is the new variant going to lead to vaccine failure? (The science says the Delta Variant is the 4th variant of concern; it can transmit @ 5 times the strength of the Alpha virus. The Lambda Variant can allude the vaccine we have. The Delta Plus Variant is also an issue.)
4. Are they 1,000 variants of the virus? (Probably, yes).

cont. Desert Oasis Healthcare Segment – August 7, 2021

Hour 1 Seg 3 – cont. Desert Oasis Healthcare Segment

DESERT OASIS HEALTHCARE w/ Dr. Brian Hodgkins re: Executive V.P. of Clinical Operations @ D.O.H.C.; 275 El Cielo Rd., Palm Springs, 92262. “Your Health, Your Life, Our Passion”. Leads the COVID-10 Taskforce.
– STATEMENTS/QUESTIONS from “Joey Pals”
1. Are the symptoms different for the Alpha vs. Delta variant? (Yes, a bit more irritation in the upper respiratory system for the Delta variant. For the most part, the same symptoms).
2. DISCUSSION of the mental suffering children are experiencing during this Pandemic? (Yes, very true. Already showing an increase in suicides in young people. Should motivate EVERYONE to get vaccinated just to get the kids back to school. 55 million U.S. Children that will probably have long-term manifestations of no social interaction, no in-person learning, hardest on lower income kids who depend on the meals provided in school, don’t have the computers @ home, don’t have parents that are qualified to monitor “at-home” learning. Academy of Pediatrics stresses the need to return kids to school.)
3. What is the benefit of cinnamon and water? (Yes, cinnamon stick in a liter of water, in the frig overnight, can be good for weight loss. Also done w/ lemon water. Also is thought to be anti-inflammatory.)
4. If someone goes to work and reports that they are vaccinated AND THEY ARE NOT…what can happen? (D.O.H.C. has mandated vaccines for their employees. Good question for the Joey English Legal Eagle. At D.O.H.C. they will begin testing their employees weekly. After this mandate expires you may have to pay $100. a week to get tested.)
– REPORT on how to get a FREE Digital Back-up for your vaccine record. Go to www.myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov and sign up. You’ll quick a QR (quick response) Code on your phone.
