DESERT WATER AGENCY w/ Xochitl Pena – 1200 S. Gene Autry Tr., Palm Springs, CA. 92264.
– REPORT that she’s working from home since March as the Outreach Specialist for DWA. Phone calls are forwarded to folks working @ home.
– REPORTS that crews are still out there taking care of the issues w/ out water.
– REPORT that DWA is aware of the impact of COVID-19 customers financially, so there are no late fees, no credit card processing fees, no shut-offs.
– REPORT on Help to Others for help paying a water bill. www.dwa.org/h2o.
– REPORT that the lobby @ DWA on Gene Autry is closed but you can drop off your bill in the parking lot mail box that looks like a water tower. Lol.
– ADVICE on how to get through the hot weather….hydrate, water lawns early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid evaporation. There’s a helpful watering guide on www.cvwatercounts.com.
– REPORT on their Water Quality Report that they put out each year. Results from the 2600 water samples taken each year. Report on WHERE we get our water from. We passed w/ flying colors. Results are on the website.
– DISCUSSION of a question from a “Joey Pal” about hard water stains on a countertop. That comes from the SAFE BUT rich minerals in our tap water. These stains can be easily removed w/ vinegar!!!

– REPORT that all three Revivals Stores are open.

-3. PALM SPRINGS (JOEY’S) REVIVALS STORE. They are following all safety requirements. They have been overwhelmed w/ donations. YAY!!!!
– REPORT on the “contact-less” donations, then the process quarantined the donations, then process to put donations in the stores.
– REPORT on limit of customers in the stores.
– REPORT on wiping down the store every couple of hours.
– REPORT that there are no returns or open fitting rooms @ this point in time.
– REPORT on the NEW ON-LINE SHOPPING on the Revivals website, for new products only. Revivals will deliver too.
– All three stores hours: 9 – 5 Mon. thru Sat.; 10 to 4 on Sunday.

– ANNOUNCMENT of “Google Meet” for both android and I phones. Better than Zoom and Facetime.
– Doesn’t take up as much ban width.
– FREE service!!!!
– REPORT; go to the Google App store; download the “Google Meet”; create a meeting to join or create a new meeting; type in an email address and a link will be sent and the receiver clicks on the link and you are connected in “Google Meet”.
– You can turn off the video if you want.
– Can use on all Apple devices and Android products.
– DISCUSSION that while everyone is @ home and everyone is on their devices, the need for more ban width as we all use the same Internet connection. He’s installing systems to increase your ban width in your home.
– REPORT on the new cameras that take temperatures w/ lasers @ businesses via thermal cameras. Also, facial recognition via eye glasses and digital contact lenses that will have video capabilities. Is very very accurate.

RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK w/ Dan Gore re: “Oscar’s Downtown Palm Springs”. 125 E. Tahquitz Cyn., Way. # 108, Palm Springs, CA. 92262.
– REPORT that as of May 22, OSCARS IS OPEN FOR SIT DOWN DINING. Bar and show room NOT open yet. No Tea Dance yet. No “Bitchiest Brunch” yet.
– DETAILS of the guidelines for dining. Social distancing w/ faux-box hedges, mist system, masked servers, 6 tables on the patio that can seat 6 people each. All silverware is biodegradable. Constant sanitizing of tables and clean tablecloths.
– REPORT that diners/take out can be served from the bar, BUT the physical bar is not open.
– Monday – Friday 10 AM to 2 PM – 100% plant based only take out only from Chef J.

– ANNOUNCEMENT: The Museum will officially re-open Monday June 1st!!!!! “NOW BOARDING”!!!! @ 10 AM.
