– REPORT that we are now starting our 15th week of “sheltering in place”.
– REPORT that hospitals are being filled. Surge is happening now, EVERYWHERE.
– Seems that we are going to try to “weather the surge”.
– MOST NEW CASES are coming from Coachella, Indio, etc.
– DISCUSSION of the rumor that the virus might disappear w/out a vaccine.
– DISCUSSION of the report out of Italy that the virus is getting weaker.
– DISCUSSION that even in folks who have recovered from the virus their antibodies seem to disappear in a couple of months.
– REPORT that it seems that even though you have recovered from this virus, you might be able to GET IT AGAIN!!!
– Most cases now are 45 years old and below. But the older you get, the more likely you are to be hospitalized. Getting high concentrations of oxygen as treatment.
– REPORT that now patients are being told to lay on their stomachs to be able to breathe better.
– DISCUSSION that the boarder cities of California have had a tremendous surge of the virus.
– REPORT that the CDC has added nausea, vomiting and diarrhea to the list of symptoms of COVID-19.
– REPORT that the virus will not live long on hot surfaces outside. Most catch the virus INDOORS.
– REPORT that even as we enter Stage #3, we still need to wear a mask, wash your hands and socially distance. SIT OUTSIDE @ a restaurant if you can.

– REPORT on how air conditioning systems MIGHT spread the virus. Depends on the flow of the “air stream”. Best to open a window and increase the circulation of air if you can. Decrease re-circulation if you can.
– REPORT that the N95 masks are good and KN95, also good, means it was made in China!!! D.O.H.C. “fit tests” their masks for “patient facing” employees.
– DISCUSSION of the “contact tracing” unit D.O.H.C. that has been started. How D.O.H.C. assesses employees who test positive and how they are allowed to return to work eventually. D.O.H.C. test employees TWICE before they are allowed to return.
– DISCUSSION that most people who are infected HAVE NO SYMPTOMS and early on may not have a temperature.
– REPORT ON TESTING…..DOHC members call (760) 969-6555 for FREE testing thru DOHC, and ANYONE may call to get advice and information. Turn-around time is now up to 4 to 5 days. Positive results are around 10%. County has 11 sites for testing.

– EXPLANATION that insurance companies (Dennis represents over 30 of them) have gotten together to reimburse 15% for 2 months of premiums for Auto ONLY for April and May. You don’t have to call your Insurance Agent, this will be done automatically.
– REPORT that for Commercial Insurance Clients, they will get a similar deal and again, you don’t need to call anyone.

– REPORT this is NOT a real estate crisis, it is a health crisis.
