– MISSION STATEMENT; Dementia Help Center is the rescue plan for family caregivers. Offer individual and family coaching, personalized planning, care management and placement when the time comes. Fear cripples, but knowledge empowers. Strive to educate, inform and manage the disease and then to thrive.
– REPORT that 64% of family members who care for Dementia/Alzheimer’s patients will develop CHRONIC ILLNESSES of their own and frequently DIE before the patient they are caring for. NOW there is NO CONVERSATION as opposed to other illnesses where the patient can still talk and understand.
– DISCUSSION for today: Update on Bruce Willis and his diagnosis of Frontal Lobe Dementia and his wife’s decision to place Bruce in a facility.
1. Why that was a brave decision on his wife’s part.
2. Why his care demanded so much that wasn’t possible in his home w/ their two young children.
3. Why the noise of the “family” caused him to be affected negatively. i.e. his speech, etc.
4. REPORT that his wife has been “trashed” for placing Bruce in a facility and how unfair that was.

1. Recognize & accept that things are now different.
2. Control your tone of voice & manage your patience levels.
3. Be careful about “crowds”.
4. Provide family members & friends an update, in advance.

8. Stick to their routine as much as possible.

1. What should/could/can I do about the repeated calls and questions about my Medicare ON TV? (Brian does NOT EVER ANSWER A NUMBER HE DOESN’T RECOGNIZE. Folks leave messages and then he calls back. MEDICARE WILL NEVER CALL YOU. The callers try to “get around the law” by saying “Do you Have Medicare, NOT I’m calling from Medicare.)
– ADMONISHMENT to work w/ a LOCAL AGENT NOT some outsourced person.
– REPORT that Medicaid is particular to individual states.
– REPORT that he belongs to the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals. (NABIP)
– DISCUSSION of the changes to MEDICARE PART D – the most utilized component of your Medicare because you take your medications EVERY DAY.
– REPORT on Medicare Part D. For drugs. Most Medicare Advantage Plans have this. Medicare is going to put a cap in 2025 on the out-of-pocket maximum of $2000. for Part D. GREAT.
– DISCUSSION of the insurance problems in California, due to the actions of the Insurance Commissioner.
Possible limit of $2,000. for out-of-pocket costs. Affects the formulary going forward. 33% of personal costs will go up to 50% next year.
– REPORT on Medicare Part D. For drugs. Most Medicare Advantage Plans have this. Medicare is going to put a cap in 2025 on the out-of-pocket maximum of $2000. for Part D. GREAT.
REPORT on Change to Medicare Part D, which is your prescription drugs. You can get this one of 2 ways;
a. GOOD NEWS; Putting an “out of pocket” maximum on Part D. $2,000. Max. This will automatically change, established by CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services).
b. Part of Medicare Advantage.
– REPORT that all costs WILL INCREASE for most other folks. Watch the changes in drug costs, deductibles and co-payments.
– REPORT that is BAD NEWS is that there will be shrinking Formularies. (the list of medications that Medicare covers)
– REPORT that Brian will serve his clients in their home, in his office, on the phone. REMEMBER HE WILL COME TO YOUR HOME. He has all the special classification to do all of this. The rules are different in other states.

1. What is “smart water”? (Water that has added electrolytes. Added Calcium, Magnesium and Potassium. Strange process of turning water to vapor, the distilled water then back to vapor)
2. What causes ringing in the ears? (Can be caused by; 1. A hearing loss. 2. Medication. 3. An injury. 4. An infection.)
3. What is nitazene? (Horrible. Stronger that anything. Illicit drug. Was developed in the 1950’s as an alternative to morphine. You need Narcam Over the Counter now.
– REPORT that you can become a patient w/ a yearly fee or she can bill Medicare and her visits are charged to insurance.
– REPORT that she can write prescriptions. Even for bio-identical hormones as well.
