– LATE BREAKING NEWS that the NVC building, acreage, etc. has been purchased by Eisenhower Health. Transitioning into a new program. Location on Alejo will be closed for about one year while EVERYTHING IS REMODELED. All programs will transfer over to the Boys and Girls Club of Palm Springs @ Sunrise and Ramon. Phone numbers remain the same. Eisenhower is bringing in a new program called PACE.
– REPORT that they are STILL accepting new clients.
– REPORT that the Boys and Girls Club has a full kitchen.
– REPORT that the NVC is located in the Boy’s and Girl’s Club TEEN CENTER.

– MISSION STATEMENT that Dementia Help Center is the rescue plan for family caregivers. Offer individual and family coaching, personalized planning, care management and placement when the time comes. Fear cripples, but knowledge empowers. Strive to educate, inform and manage the disease and then to thrive.
– QUESTIONS FROM “JOEY PALS”
1. Can Alzheimer’s be transmitted person to person? (No. Less than 3% of the world has hereditary Alzheimer’s. If it’s in a family thru the generations.)

– REPORT that the brain has a “waste management system”. This cleansing process occurs primarily during deep sleep.
– MENTION of Restorative Sleep and it’s importance. What you need is 18 – 25 minutes of DEEP SLEEP. What you want is 90 minutes of DEEP SLEEP to restore your brain.
– DISCUSSION that most adults spend about 20% of their night in deep sleep.
– REPORT that care-givers need to ask themselves ”How are you”? Many care-givers have “angry” Alzheimer’s family members. The patient IS AWARE that things are changing.

– DISCUSSION of how to join the American Legion. i.e. parent of a veteran, spouse of a veteran, a child of a veteran, etc., How important the number of members is for the PACT to get the benefits for all veterans.
