LISTEN TO THE COMPLETE SHOW FOR DETAILS OF SUBJECTS DISCUSSED IN THIS INTERVIEW.

Listen to Seg 1

ASCEND INSURANCE w/ Dennis Van Buskirk re; re: 36917 Cook St., #101, Palm Desert, CA. 92211. In University Village.
– REPORT on his family and their Christmas.
– DISCUSSION of what he’s doing the “most” of now…helping folks find insurance because MORE companies are leaving CA left and right. i.e. Kemper and Nationwide. So there are fewer companies to choose from. So many companies have STOPPED writing insurance in CA. Nationwide has closed their doors to new business. Dennis can move these folks to other insurance companies. Companies are getting more aggressive.
– REPORT that his staff includes his son and another new employee and he still needs a couple more. Dennis will train anyone new.
– QUESTION “JOEY PALS”
1. How dependable are the life insurance companies that advertise on TV? (Everyone advertising on TV MUST HAVE A LICENSE # someone in the small print. Then it is a legitimate business. Better to work w/ a LOCAL PERSON, i.e. Dennis. You can apply for a life insurance police ON LINE. No physical w/ a policy up to $2 Million term insurance!!!! Least expensive.)
– DISCUSSION DO NOT BUY MORTGAGE PROTECTION, buy life insurance because mortgage insurance death benefit goes down w/ your home equity, BUT YOUR PAYMENT WON’T.
2. Do I need high limits to protect me if I’m a LYFT or UBER driver? (Drivers usually know the rules, they need extra coverage when you bring someone else into your vehicle. Drivers are independent contractors.)
3. What about “driverless” cars? (There’s a button to push IN THE CAR and the owner of the car is libel for accidents, tickets, etc.)
– REPORT on “Gap Insurance” that is sold @ the dealership for the differences in the price you pay and the immediate loss of value when you drive off the lot. Cheaper to buy “Gap Insurance” from your Insurance provider, rather than the dealership.
– REPORT on how Dennis is an independent broker and still has more agencies he can write with than other insurance agents.
– REPORT that Dennis’s clients are getting letters of cancellation. Dennis wants you to stay w/ the same company if you can. Other carriers are usually more expensive.
– DISCUSSION that Dennis is now writing a lot of insurance for manufactured homes and vacation rental properties. Rates are going up.
– REPORT that NOW IF YOU ARE ONE DAY LATE paying your premium, the insurance companies will probably NOT RENEW YOU.)
– REPORT that there are NO BROKERAGE FEES @ Ascend.
– REPORT that when you have an incident, CALL DENNIS FIRST before you call the Insurance Company and it goes on your record.
– REPORT that he writes a lot for Canadians.
– REPORT that the whole office is bi-lingual.
– REPORT that the office does the paperwork…a lot of it on-line and over the phone. Fill out the form on the front page of the website and Dennis will give you a quote about anything you need.
– REPORT that he also writes commercial policies.
– (contact info; www.ascendins.com and (760) 341-3477.)
