RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK w/ Joe Enos re: Marketing and Public Relations for “Lulu California Bistro”. 200 S. Palm Canyon Dr., Palm Springs, CA. 92262.
– REPORT that LuLu has been open for 9 years now. Joey was the first person thru the door for the “soft” opening in 2011, followed by Fred “The Hammer” and Linda Williamson.
– REPORT that Lulu will extend dining out on the sidewalk next weekend.
– REPORT on Weekend Brunch for $19.99 for three courses. Sat., and Sun., 9 – 3 PM.
– REPORT that Sun., – Thurs., 1/2 off bottles of wine.
Can have it if you order “out” or “in”. Alcohol must be served w/ a meal. But if you “take out” you can have wine and/or cocktails.

– REPORT that we are now starting our 24th. week of “Sheltering in Place”.
– REPORT that CV restaurants can’t re-open until we have a positivity rate of 8% for a week or more, and the CV is @ 12%.
– REPORT that she makes certain that D.O.H.C. clients are well taken care of and can get the prescription that they need.
– REPORT on the reason folks CAN’T get their prescriptions. Also includes the education component.
– REPORT that there are lots of virtual visits thru D.O.H.C. Older population is actually using the virtual visits more than the younger clients of D.O.H.C.
– REPORT that the CV hospitals now have less than 200 COVID-19 patients, the lowest number so far.
– DISCUSSION of “Joey Pal” questions re;
1. Clotting. Anti-clotting drugs seem to reduce the risk of death by COVID-19 or being on a ventilator.
2. Over-the-counter ointment that is FDA registered, not approved. To coat the inside of nasal passages as a preventative measure.

– REPORT that flu season is coming up and D.O.H.C. is ramping up the drive-thru flu vaccine locations. Also will screen for COVID-19 @ the same time. You will get “proof” of flu vaccination.

– REPORT on the chances of re-infection. i.e. our immune system is starting to gear up against COVID-19.

– REPORT on how Elmer’s is serving outdoors on the lawn and on both patios w/ canopies, misters, and fans. Priority is to keep guests and staff safe.

– REPORT on how her employees “alternate” serving in this extreme heat warning.
– REPORT on the huge fans out on the grass that have water misting through them as well.
– REPORT on her charitable efforts during this Pandemic. She has extended the $1. donation for every item ordered from the front page of the menu that goes to Desert Cancer Foundation. Can just drop off cash/check donations inside as well.
