– REPORT that Eisenhower Health FOR THEIR 3RD TIME; is a “Magnet Hospital”.
L. – REPORT that during the nursing shortage in the 1930’s so there was a study as to why nurses would drive further to work at a certain hospital…i.e. why one hospital was a “magnet” for the nurses. Now EH IS THE ONLY HOSPITAL IN THE CV to be a Magnet Hospital to attract GREAT NURSES.
B. – DISCUSSION of how EH was “judged” and awarded this designation AGAIN.
B. – REPORT that the number 1 attraction is “cultural” Enough staff. Their recruitment and retention programs.
B. – DISCUSSION of where we recruit from. i.e. Canada. We have 1200 – 1400 RN’s @ EH. What the recruitment process entails. Also, going to national conferences.

D. – He grew up in S. Cal. Jewish Federation is the largest Jewish organization in the Desert. Discussion of how monies are raised and what the funds are used for. DF. of collective giving. His past w/ “Stop the Sirens”. The antisemitism here in the Country and the CV. The Federation looks to care for the vulnerable and to do philanthropic activity thru a Jewish lens. Their support of Ukraine and Russia, etc.
HOLD THE DATE: Thurs., 4.24 the World Remembrance of the Holocaust over 80 years ago. There are 25 known survivors of the Holocaust living here in the Desert. Event will be @ an undisclosed location that will be announced when you call and make a reservation. FREE EVENT.

J.– REPORT that the CV Symphony has a partnership w/ the City of Rancho Mirage. CV Symphony provides some performing arts for the R.M. Amphitheater.
K.– FRI., 4.25 FREE concert @ the McCallum @ 7:30 PM. Tickets are FREE on the www.CVSymphony.com. People must be in their seats by 7 because after that empty seats will be given away. The Conductor is John Mario. Players come; locally, various colleges, snowbirds; professionals, etc. Normal season is 4 performances a season.

PALM SPRINGS GAY MEN’S CHORUS w/ Jerry Soria-Foust, Artistic Director and Jeff Hocker
Jerry – REPORT ON “DISNEY PRIDE”4.24 ,25, 26, 27. @ the Annenberg Theater @ the P.S. Art Museum. The music of all the Disney movies….old and new. Disney has provided the videos to match the music. Get the tickets on the website. Tickets are $40 – $70.
Jeff – The Boston Gay Men’s Chorus went to Disney and proposed this idea.
Jerry – This is now JUST FOR THE Gay Men’s Chorus 2 hour production that marries the Disney music to the LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY. They rehearse for 15 weeks. All the singers are volunteers. Now the Chorus will be the Resident Community Group for the New Plaza Theater. The complicated issues involved with this production.
Jeff – The detail work involved in doing PR for Disney and how professional it has to be.

5. Is “cold plunging” good for you? (It is safe. There are benefits. For muscle aches. There is a risk. Start out slow. After 5 minutes in REALLY COLD WATER there are certain risk factors. You hyperventilate and your heart rate goes up.)
