– MISSION STATEMENT that Dementia Help Center is the rescue plan for family caregivers. Offer individual and family coaching, personalized planning, care management and placement when the time comes. Fear cripples, but knowledge empowers. Strive to educate, inform and manage the disease and then to thrive.

1. What are the stages of dementia?
– Mild or Early Stage. And what helps.
– Moderate or Middle State. And what helps.

– REPORT that the Joslyn Center has so many activities to fight isolation for folks.
– REPORT that the Center is open Monday thru Friday 8 AM 5 PM. They are a COOLING CENTER. Stop in, get water and a snack, cool down and engage in activities if you like.
– REPORT that they are an Adult Senior Center and that they have over 80 classes and clubs every week. Check the calendar on their website.
– ANNOUNCEMENT that there is a Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Club. They play cards etc., GREAT.
– REPORT that the Joslyn Center serves between 150 and 200 people a day for people age 50 and up.
– REPORT that membership is $30./year. Sign up on-line and sign up for the FREE newsletter that comes out every week, even during the summer.

– REPORT on his fabulous talk @ the FREE Travel Club of the Desert. Medicare Advantage plans actually offer more robust foreign travel protection than folks realize. The audience GASPED when Brian announced the subject. Brian was mobbed by the audience for information. REMARKABLE EVENT.
– EVEN MORE REVEALING TO THE ACT TOUR AUDIENCE was that the supplemental plan will cover a $50,000 lifetime maximum for foreign travel emergencies.
– REPORT on Medicare Part D. For drugs. Most Medicare Advantage Plans have this. Medicare is going to put a cap in 2025 on the out-of-pocket maximum of $2000. for Part D. GREAT.
– DISCUSSION of the continuing calls supposedly from Medicare. THESE ARE CRANK CALLS and are actually illegal. The only people you can call you about Medicare are your current insurance company or current insurance agent. MEDICARE OR SOCIAL SECURITY WILL NEVER MAKE AN UNSOLICITED CALL TO YOU.
– SUBJECT FOR “JOEY PALS”
1. Agents are beginning to prepare for 2025. (Begins in June. AHIP Certification that is a special requirement for a licensed insurance agent to have a conversation about Medicare part C or D. and an agent must get this EVERY YEAR.)
2. Change to Medicare Part D, which is your prescription drugs. You can get this one of 2 ways;
a. GOOD NEWS; Putting an “out of pocket” maximum on Part D. $2,000. Max. This will automatically change, established by CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services).
b. Part of Medicare Advantage.
– REPORT that all costs WILL INCREASE for most other folks. Watch the changes in drug costs, deductibles and co-payments.
– REPORT that is BAD NEWS is that there will be shrinking Formularies. (the list of medications that Medicare covers)
– REPORT that Brian will serve his clients in their home, in his office, on the phone. He has all the special classification to do all of this.

– REPORT on the negative decisions from the State of CA. 100 Solar Companies have gone out of business.
– DISCUSSION of what will happen to solar customers whose provider has gone out of business. Different for folks who own their solar and those who rent.
– REPORT that Corey is a platform for other independent energy consultants. He has a partnership with electricians, property managers, real estate agents and home builders who refer business to him and they split the margin on the deal. They both “win” and the home owner is taken care of too.
