– She’s a member of Mayor Kors’ task force for “re-opening” Palm Springs. REPORT that the County also is putting a task force together and she hopes to sit on that committee as well.

– 35 people on this committee. Representative from all sectors of the Palm Springs community.
– Brittany from the Chamber is taking P.S. Monopoly games around to members to see how they can help a business. One-on-one approach. Reaching 40 businesses a day this way.

– Frontline Friday Flyovers C47, P51 and P63 King Cobra (one of only 3 that fly in the U.S.) will fly a different flight path over the Coachella Valley each Friday in the month of May starting @ 1.

– REPORT that hospitals are starting to see elective surgical cases return. Folks have been staying home w/ heart attacks, strokes etc.,
– REPORT on the regime/ritual for D.O.H.C. staff and their clothing when their shift is over.

– REPORT on a new COVID-19 symptom. “COVID-19 toes” is showing up in younger folks.
– THE GOOD NEWS – work on vaccine being done all over the world. Trying to find ways for the body to recognize the virus and the antibodies. Looking @ vaccines from other counties.
– REPORT on convalescent plasma.
– REPORT on the “herb immunity”.
– REPORT that LabCorp will have the ability to do a blood test, approved by the FDA, to see if you have had the virus. LabCorp has a home test you can pay for and send it.
– DISCUSSION that we now know that dogs can be asymptomatic w/ the virus and cats can be symptomatic. Pigs and chickens CANNOT get CoronaVirus!!!!

– REPORT on the COVID-19 services @ EH. All the safety procedures are in place. Most of their COVID-19 patients are finishing their recovery @ home.
– REPORT that they saw a surge of 35 – 40 positive patients, but now seeing a decline. EH is well-able to handle this. EH is here to help.
– DISCUSSION that the symptoms have been so varied for the COVID-19.
– REPORT on the staff @ EH. They are doing GREAT. DISCUSSION of how the staff carefully changes shifts.
– DISCUSSION of her thoughts that this disease may go on for quite a while.
– REPORT that EH is AGAIN a “Magnet Hospital”. One of only 35 hospitals in CA. for nursing excellence and patient outcome.
– DISCUSSION that an OB Facility is in the works. Visiting is not allowed @ this point in time. Emergency department is open. Some surgeries are on-going. Procedural areas are open.
