RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK w/ John Fritch re: “Peaks”, “Pine’s Café” and “The Lookout Lounge” @ the Top of the P.S. Aerial Tram. 1 Tramway Road. Palm Springs, CA.
– REPORT The Tram is the #1 Tourist attraction in the C.V. and the #8 IN THE WORLD place for cliff-side dining by Architectural Digest and the temperature @ the Top of the Tram is 40 degrees cooler than on the Desert Floor. In the 60’s and 70’s. You can buy a jacket at the gift shop if you need. Great place to send your visitors.
– REPORT that the views are amazing. You can see for 50 miles.
– DISCUSSION of the Christmas Schedule;
Dining options for the big crowds. Special Christmas dinners in “Pines” and “Peaks”. Starting @ 4 PM. Always children’s offerings too. CALL AND MAKE A RESERVATION.
– DISCUSSION of the food @ Peaks; rib eye, lamb, salmon, a real tiramisu, a warm apple tart, glutton-free chocolate cake w/ a caramel center.
– DISCUSSION of the food @ Pines Café; more cafeteria style; grab ‘n go, sandwiches, salads, ribs, herb chicken, pizza, nachos. Ride ‘n Dine (tram ticket and dinner @ the Pines Café) starts @ 4:30 PM; ribs, burgundy beef, chicken, vegetarian lasagna.
– DISCUSSION of the food @ Lookout Lounge. Best view of the forest and the valley. Peaks menu is served here as well.
– REPORT that “Peaks” is open 7 days a week from 11 AM – 4 PM for lunch and 5 – 11 PM for dinner.
– REPORT that they can handle 120 folks for corporate, wedding, etc., private events.
– REPORT that they are open 7 days a week. Book on “open table”. Reservations strongly suggested; CALL because Open Table does not have all the tables available.

– QUESTIONS IN THE MEDICINE CABINET from; Dr. Lindsey, Dr. Brian, the news, Internet and Joey Pals in the “Medicine Cabinet”.
1. Measles outbreak in Texas and New Mexico? (Yes, in W. Texas. 125 cases. First child to die of measles in 22 yeasr. Measles was wiped out years ago. All these children were sick and many were hospitalized. All were unvaccinated. 18% of all the children in this area opted out due to acceptable reasons, i.e. religious. These numbers are the highest since 2019. Medical officials blamed this outbreak on the vaccine. ABSOLUTLY IMPOSSIBLE.)
– REPORT that w/ the measles vaccine you get 2 doses AND it is 97% effective and are protected FOR LIFE. Measles has one of the highest mortality rates for children. The geno-type of Measles has changed. The vaccine works against any know Measles virus.
2. Why is this flu season worse than others? (3% of all deaths in the U.S. right now are from the flu. Highest rate in the last 10 years. 4 times worse than last year. This year might be the worst in 20 years. This is the time of year where the vaccine is developed for NEXT year. Not too late to get your flu vaccine this year. 3. Can a person go to a website to buy OTC semaglutide the active ingredient in Wigovy or Ozempic? (Yes it was available then, due to a drug shortage, BUT NOW THE DRUG SHORTAGE IS OVER, and it is no longer available this way. Means lots of people who started therapy w/ this drug will now may have to go back to getting a prescription for it)
4. What’s with the Medicare Do-Over? (Check w/ Brian Bilhartz. Check EVERY YEAR. Now you have 30 more days (AEP) to get your insurance correct.)
5. Why are my blood pressure pills making me dizzy, fatigued and sick. Why? (Does this happen during the first couple of weeks of a new medicine? All BP medicines can cause a little dizziness. Normally should go away. If you develop other symptoms, perhaps you need a different drug. Always know your own BP numbers, take your BP 3 times a week @ home).
