– REPORT that Jan., 1 Eisenhower Health turned 50 years old. Thank you to the Joey listeners and the community for all the support for 50 years!!!
– REPORT on how EH always preps for Emergency situations AND in 2020 had to PREP FOR COVID-19, an unfunded and unknown situation.
– DISCUSSION that EH’s COVID=19 Response Fund and the Hospital Recovery Fund raised $14 million in record time thanks to the community.
– DISCUSSION of how people were hesitant to come to EH for their regular appointments i.e. cancer treatments, heart surgeries, elective surgeries etc.,
– New year, BUT SAME VIRUS. Continue to use all protocols.
– REPORT that EH has the vaccine and has all the necessary freezers and is now administering the Pfizer 2 shot Vaccine to their front-line workers.

– REPORT that ACT FOR MS is 20 years old. Founded by Ann’s Mother, Gloria Greer.
– IMPACT on ACT for MS clients due to the Pandemic. i.e. loss of muscle tone, etc. Chair yoga via Zoom helps. Drugs might help w/ muscle spasms. Doing Zoom support calls. Sending physical therapists to homes in some cases.
– DISCUSSION of how MS becomes “hard wired” to the brain and how medicines will help ONLY before this happens.
– REPORT that on Dec.,12, ACT for MS had a fundraiser on CBS Channel #2 @ 7 PM w/ Tom Dreesen, Deanna Martin and the “Doc” Poster orchestra on KESQ. Produced by Richard DeSantis, directed by Bill Finley and emceed by Karen Devine. VOG will be Miss Joey English. Celebrating the “Experience the Legacy of The Chi Chi Club”. Waiting for the results of the fund raising.

“Mr. Community” w/ Steven Henke re: DAP – 1695 N. Sunrise Way, Palm Springs, CA. 92262.
– REPORT on our respective New Year’s Eve celebrations.
– REPORT on DAP’s virtual events for fund raising. DAP has found that a TRUE physical event is not needed….doing hybrid events now. Less expensive, can reach more people, more focus on the work and community and the mission statement, vs. the “fluff”.
– DEFINITION of a “hybrid event” of fewer people in a smaller group.
– REPORT that the people who support DAP are focused on continuing to support DAP. Supporters can be “part” of the event w/out being “at” the event.
– REPORT that these televised special events for fund raising help w/ local tv programming as well.
– REPORT that we are probably looking @ next fall before we can begin to have “live” events again.
– REPORT on REVIVALS @ www.revivalsstores.com @ all three stores. Open 7 days a week. All precautions and protocols are in place.
– REPORT that all 3 Revivals Stores (Palm Springs, Cathedral City and Palm Desert) are now open 10 AM to 5 PM, Mon. – Sat., and 10 AM to 4 PM, Sundays. Gives the volunteers a bit of time off.
– REPORT on how Revivals disinfects each store, every day. i.e. the “fog” type system.
