1. What is Bells Palsey? (A weakness on 1 side of your face. Looks like a stroke, but the Doctor can tell the difference. Most cases resolve. Maybe require drugs. Can have ear and jaw pain. Not life-threatening. Might cause permanent eye damage.)
2. Will Metformin battle Covid? (Metformin is used primarily to treat diabetes. Those folks on Metformin were less likely to get Long Covid and found a reduction up to 40% in the small study.)
3. Is Syphilis increasing? Is there some national program to treat it? (Yes, is rising across the U.S. Cases have doubled in Riverside County between 2017 and 2021. Greatest increases in women. Therefore babies born w/ Syphilis or stillborn. Initial infection is a canker sore anywhere. There is primary Syphilis and secondary Syphilis. If not treated it is deadly, but that takes years.)

4. Now that school is back in session is Covid increasing again and how long should they stay home? (Yes, the end of summer there was a Covid surge. End of Spring we had a change in Covid protocol. Stay home until your symptoms are IMPROVING w/ NO MEDICATION, w/ NO FEVER, for 24 hours. AND 5 days after that be cautious. REMEMBR HAND WASHING.)

5. If you’ve had a melanoma, are you more likely to get another one? (Yes. Most common to recur in the first5 years. More likely to recur if it was thick or large or spread to your lymph nodes. Risk factor can be family history of melanoma or PCBs, chemicals)

– ANNOUNCEMENT that they have partnered w/ the Mizell Senior Center. Every Monday there will be a FREE Stroke Recovery Support Group for caregivers, folks at risk of stroke and interested persons. Will be held every other week through the summer.
