– REPORT that Red-Jeep Tours is in it’s 36th year.
– REPORT that Red-Jeep Tours has put a pause on all of it’s tours for August BUT Joshua Tree. All the Jeeps will be re-furbished.
1. San Andreas Fault Tour – not during the summer.
2. Indian Canyons – not during the summer.
3. Joshua Tree – only one during the sumer.
4. Painted Canyon Tour – not during the summer.
– REPORT that there are 5 Canyons; Palm, Andreas, Murray, Chino and Tahquitz REPORT on the 3 ways the plates move. 1. Subduction zone. 2. Plate spreading. 3. Strike/slip.
– TOPIC FOR TODAY; the Salton Sea.
– REPORT on the “smell” of the Salton Sea we all are smelling now. It’s an enclosed body of water, no fresh water, unless it’s from rain and it carries all the minerals, fertilizers, etc. from the ground around the Sea. Sulfur Dioxide and some of the smell of the fish dying. Large algae bloom as well, which takes all the oxygen out of the water and the fish die.
– REPORT that the Tour Schedule has changed for the summer. Starts @ 7 AM to 10 now. Only early morning because of the heat. No afternoon tours.
– ANNOUNCEMENT that they are hiring…MUST BE ABLE TO DRIVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION.

1. What causes acid reflux? (30% of folks have acid reflux. Causes; fried foods, carbonated drinks, citrus, eatling late @ night. Cures; oatmeal, rice, green veggies. Some OTC preparations and also prescription remedies can help.)
2. What is Fried Rice Syndrome? (Can be caused by Chinese or Italian food. When the food isn’t stored properly, i.e. left out overnight on the counter. Develops spores; get rapid nausea, diarrhea, usually cures itself.)
3. What is Anti-IL (Interleukin II)? (New study @ Duke and in London. If you can block the Interleukin you can increase life span. Mice in study lived twice as long.)

4. Why do/What is ”old people smell”? (More prevalent in women than men. Caused as skin & glands age and degrade. Causes a musty, sweet smell chemically. Smelling this can lower your anxiety.)
5. What is Spironolactone? (A diuretic used for lots of issues, BUT also for hair loss and thinning in women. Safe and works about 30% of the time. Can get it on-line @ RO.com.)
