July Appearances 2025

#11 –  D.O.H.C.’s Helene Le Clair; Radio legend Dan McGrath and yours truly; Wed., July 30; @ The Palm Springs Symphony’s wonderful concert @ the Palm Springs Surf Club. (Great room and facility) Conductor Tom Hartley guided the 21 musicians thru a bevy of ALL OUR FAVORITE PIECES, with a bit of a giggle along the way!  This is the Symphony “in residence” @ the Plaza Theatre w/ 5 concerts planned for the ’25 – ’26 Season, so get your tickets, get your sponsorship done and get yourself ready to “smile” along w/ all the “musical magic”. www.PalmSprings-Symphony.org.

#10 – Tues., July 29; Adam Karsten’s wonderful Summer Cabaret Series @ CVREP continued w/ Lee Roy Reams (along w/ Music Director Alex Rybeck) sharing his song and dance man memories in such a comfortable, intimate setting.  “Me and Betty” shared all the stories of Lee Roy’s association w/ Lauren (Betty) Bacall, many were about his time appearing w/ her on Broadway in the musical “Applause” and so much more!! Complete w/ personal anecdotes and pictures!!! At the end of the show we all felt WE knew Betty, and in a sense, we did.  These shows continue to impress and entertain. www.cvrep.org

#9 – Sun., July 27; Kudos to Palm Springs Cultural Center and their fabulous Sunday movie matinees. “West Side Story” on the big screen @ the historic Camelot w/ surround-sound and the GREAT POPCORN, was wonderful!!!! Especially meaningful since both Rita Moreno and George Chakiris have both done my radio show. www.psculturalcenter.org

This ambitious undertaking, directed by David Brooks, has EVERYTHING and has it NON-STOP!!!  Marriage, divorce, family, children, Judaism, gay, straight, lesbian, life, death, love, hate AND EVEN CHESS!! Great cast SINGS the entire 90 minutes, (w/ maybe ONE spoken word, lol) headed by Luke Rainey (Marvin), Georgia Smith (Trina) and an outstanding job by Desmond McLeod (as 12-year-old Jason)…and OF COURSE, THE AFTERPARTY @ Willie Rhine’s “849”. www.palmcanyontheatre.net
#3 – July 10 – Adam Karsten’s wonderful Summer Cabaret Series @ CVREP (www.cvrep.org) continues w/ the incomparable Julie Garnye. Even though she had performed @ a private event @ my home, this show, somehow was more intimate. The patter in between her songs was just delightful, quite comical and of just the right “tone” for her performance….PLUS the best pianist EVER in Michael Sobie.  How about a show JUST FOR HIM Adam? The Summer Cabaret Series continues on Tues., and Thurs., through July 31.
#2 – July 8 – Adam Karsten’s wonderful Summer Cabaret Series @ CVREP (www.cvrep.org) hit it out of the park, and the theater!!!  Talk about a “never to be the same” evening. Glenn Rosenblum (on the Joey English Show 8.22.24 if you want to listen again on the website, www.joeyenglish.com) sits us down in his living room and shows us his home movies, along w/ all the stories.  GREAT PROGRAMMING, GREAT PRODUCTION, GREAT SETTING, AND GREAT ENTERTAINMENT.
