– REPORT that as soon as a Fireman get a call, that SECOND, he starts sweating immediately. How that plays out in a fire on scene when it’s 100 plus degrees and possible humidity, it is quite a strain. How masks and a bi-pass valve helps a fireman breathe.
– DISCUSSION of the procedures for rescuing pets during a fire.
– DISCUSSION of the Fire Department’s PEER SUPPORT PROGRAM; Mission statement is to provide emotional and on-site support to the firefighters. Palm Springs is creating the blueprint for Riverside County.

– REPORT that the Fire Chief wants the department to actively recruit new members. They are going to “fire academies”, schools, etc to share the news. NO OTHER CITY IS DOING THIS.
