– HOLD THE DATE: March 23, “Blank Canvas” the second annual fund-raising garden party. 3 – 6 PM in a private home in the San Andreas Canyons. The location will be disclosed when the ticket is purchased. All guests will be asked to help create a large painting to raffle off.
– REPORT that tickets are $100.
– REPORT that the monies are used for Community Art Education throughout the Coachella Valley.
– DISCUSSION that this group started in 1950 and is the oldest art organization in the Valley.
– REPORT on classes, workshops, work w/ schools, scholarships for seniors, grants to middle schools, field trips etc.
– REPORT that the budget for this 501C3 is $200,000./year.
– REPORT that there are about 131 juried artists @ the Desert Art Center.
– DEFINITION of a “juried artist”.
– REPORT that they are looking for sponsors, artists, volunteers, etc. Shout out to the sponsors.
