PALM SPRINGS FIRE DEPARTMENT w/ Capt. Nathan Gungel; A Fire Captain who is the public information officer for the City.
– REPORT on the weather conditions that have caused the risk of fire this summer.
– REPORT that the OFFICIAL FIRE SEASON IN PALM SPRINGS IS EVERY DAY.
– REPORT on some of the causes of fires; lightening, vehicle fires that spread, welding on gates, MOST are caused by MAN…..which means they are preventable.
– REPORT that we have about 75 firefighters. Just hired 13 more firefighters from the Fire Academy.
– REPORT that we have women fire fighters too.
– DISCUSSION of the training ALL THE TIME. They have to be prepared for anything.
– REPORT of the heavy equipment they wear to respond to almost every situation to be prepared for ANYTHING.
– REPORT that the best advice for fire season is TO HAVE A PLAN.
