– REPORT that their mission is to build young women leaders who eventually return to the Coachella Valley.
– HOLD THE DATE; Oct., 6 “Women Who Built the Coachella Valley”. Karen Devine will em-cee. Held @ the Classic Club.
– HOLD THE DATE: Oct., 9 “Young Women’s Leadership Scholarship Program”. For high school seniors. A live in-person event @ “Create” in Palm Desert. There are 17 girls who have applied and everyone who applies is eligible. Applications are due by Sept., 25. Go to www.ywldesert.org to apply.
– REPORT that this program runs from Oct – May and then the scholarships will be awarded. Have already awarded over $740,000. In scholarships. Winners choose their own colleges.
– DISCUSSION of Elle’s being a copywriter for Barbie Dolls.
