– QUESTIONS FROM “JOEY PALS”
1. Are parents responsible for son’s crimes? (As a rule “NO”.)
2. Is California going to do away w/ the bar exam? (This has been proposed. 2 states admit folks to the bar w/out this test. In CA. there is the CA. American Law approval and the State bar. You can work 700 hours under an attorney, sort of an apprentice program.)
3. Does an employee have the “right to disconnect” from their boss after hours? (Depends on whether you are salaried or hourly employed. If it is after hours, your time is your own.)
– FOCUS OF ROBERT’S PRACTICE.
1. Personal bankruptcy. There are lots of chapters in personal bankruptcies. Either a chapter 7 where you get all your debts discharged as long as you get rid of all the secured items. Mortgages also. You CANNOT discharge student loans, judgements against you from a DUI, or a tort, or last 3 years of income taxes. Or a chapter 13 where if you make more than the median income in CA ($70,000/yr for a single person) you MUST do a 13. A Chapter 13 has a payment plan.
2. BK will be on your FICA for 10 years.
REPORT that when you file a Chapter 7 Robert can get you a 700 credit score in a year if you do what he says.
