Register to get a gate pass, go thru security, go to the gate to meet someone, or spend some time thru security w/ children etc., BEFORE their flight. Not available between peak hours of 9 AM to 1 PM. FREE. Same security/background checks.
– REPORT that Avelo Airlines will increase their service to Santa Rosa was seasonal, now it’s year-round. This make 13 non-stop destinations this summer.
– REPORT on the discovered “compass rose” found during construction.
– DISCUSSION of the concessions that are underway. Hope some will be opening soon.
– REPORT on the new restaurants and shops that are coming. There will be 6 restaurants, 2 coffee shops and an ice cream shop.

RED JEEP TOURS “MOUNTAINS OF FUN” w/ Rick Curtiss re; 74-794 Lennon Pl., Ste., B. Palm Desert.
– REPORT on his 2019 Jeopardy Appearance.
– REPORT that Red Jeep is VERY BUSY. All 15 Jeeps have been out twice a day.
– DISCUSSION of what comment they hear the most from their clients. “Didn’t think the Desert would have this much foliage.” The desert doesn’t bloom every year.
– REPORT that the desert wildflowers don’t last long.
– REPORT that Red-Jeep Tours is in it’s 36th year. Was started by a woman.
– REPORT that the rain can make “huge” changes in the canyons and washes that they use as their “roads”.
– REPORT They have 15 Jeeps and 2 SUVs. They have 40 drivers/guides. All are well-trained and make their own tours up. Although there is a list of required things to show on the tour. They run tours 3 or 4 days a week.

– REPORT that every 2 years they have to take a First Aid Course and are given a certificate.

1. What is happening to the Y Chromosome? (Eventually it will be gone, but not for a very long time. It is much smaller than the X Chromosone.)
2. Do Doctors have to be retrained to recognize measles since they are coming back? (Huge outbreak in FL. Actually dangerous for unvaccinated children. Very contagious. Measles infects 9 out of 10 vs Covid infecting 3 out of 10.)
3. What is Valley Fever? (A fungal infection that gets in your lungs. Resurgence of 3 times as many cases. Yeast from the soil. Treatable.)
4. What is re-heated rice syndrome? (DO NOT REHEAT RICE the next day. Don’t steam it either. Spores still there if you leave it out of the frig.)
5. Cannabis vs Heart Disease? (New study shows that Seniors are using more cannabis. Increases risk of stroke & heart attack if you use marijuana. Doesn’t matter if you smoke, ingest, or snort it. Age doesn’t matter either. D.O.H.C. is going to have a podcast about this issue soon.)

– REPORT that the General Manager, Mark Krause has retiring after 30 years and Steve Johnson is the NEW General Manager. Mark and Steve were both hired in 1995.
– DISCUSSION of the duties of the General Manager.
– REPORT that they are launching a huge pipeline replacement program on Caballeros between Tahquitz and Ramon. Between 7 AM and 5 PM. It’s a 30-inch pipeline that is 70 years old that will be replaced w/ iron. The new pipe will last a long time.
– REPORT on new and existing programs.
1. Leak detection survey going on for 2 to 3 weeks.
2. Grass Removal – $3. Per square foot and an additional $1 per square foot in Palm Springs.
3. Smart Controllers – Adjust automatically when it rains.
4. Sprinkler nozzle – Uses less water.
5. Toilets – A $150. credit for an energy-efficient one to cover purchase and installation for residential. Ultra-low-slow. This incentive is for 1.1 gallon per flush toilets or less. Buy it where ever you want. www.dwa.org/toilet.
6. Clothes washers – $250. If you upgrade to an energy-efficient one. They have a sticker on one.
