– TOMORROW: 3/11 – PGA West for “Paws & Adopt” from 10AM – 3 PM. Open to the public. Dogs will have collars, harnesses, leash etc., All dogs will be spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.
– In conjunction w/ Animal Samaritans, Humane Society of the Desert. Fees range from $125.-$350.
– Venus de Fido will have a booth so you can shop for your new dog. (www.venusdefido.com)
– Photos of cats available for adoption.
– Cats and dogs seem to remember their “rescuer” who saved them in the first place.
– NEW ANIMAL SHELTER has opened in D.H.S. @ 65810 Hacienda….an Animal Care Center.
– Has a dedicated crew up there now w/ holding pens etc.
– Not an adoption center.

– Discussion of feral cats (a homeless, wild cat).…. a controversial program all over the U.S. Have 60,000 here in the Coachella Valley.
– Reproduce twice a year here in the Desert only!!!!
– If you are going to feed them, you have to fix them. Call and get help to trap them. Best Friend’s Society funds this rescue effort.
– Animal Samaritans will spay/neuter them, micro-chip them and vaccinate them, and clip the ear (to identify spay/neuter). They are micro-chipped so that the folks can “track” which “colony” of feral cats they come from.
– They are released back to where they were picked up.
