– Discussion of how to get the job you were really meant to have.
– Coachella Valley will be the #1 area in the country for development of the Cannabis Industry and reap the benefit of the influx of capital coming into the CV to support it…..jobs, engineering, building, facilities, educational opportunities, housing, etc. I.E. D.H.S. just approved a $500 million-dollar building/facility in which to grow cannabis.
– Recent graduates need not leave the valley for careers.
– Atomic Budz on Perez in Cathedral City is part of this growth. In Palm Springs alone there are 38 applications on file for a Cannabis Lounge.
– She encourages people to reap the benefits of this job growth in our area and she can help them do this.
– She writes a weekly column in the Desert Star Weekly.

– “Heat Hints” for the summer; no water in metal bowls, (water gets too hot anyway) no chaining outside, (it’s against the law), animals need to be micro-chipped and have a collar, keep them inside, if you have a pool be certain they know how to get OUT, CPA is workable for dogs.
– Discussion of CBD “chewies” for pets that are stressed by fireworks and/or thunder. Thunder shirts work fairly well.
– Cats are the #1 pet in the world and the least removed from their original form centuries ago. They don’t like sweets, they only meow to humans, etc.,
– FREE help w/ feral cats.

– Il Corso on El Paseo in Palm Desert is across from the Apple Store, open all year long. Il Corso in Palm Springs will open mid-September @ 111 N. Palm Canyon, so this job fair is to hire for that opening. In conjunction w/ Developer John Wessman.
– Il Corso is a fine dining establishment offering genuine Italian dishes from Sicilian Chef Mario Marfia. They will be open from 11 AM to 11 PM. Pizza bar too.
– Will have room service, to local hotels and deliveries available here in Palm Springs.
– There will be a private dining room, cooking classes, “Happy Hour”, featuring a different Italian region’s food each week, and Italian tours.

– Cosmos Club for gentlemen, Safari Lounge is the bar and open to all levels of residents.
– Can dine in the Grand Dining Room or have the food delivered to your unit. Great pastry from Nancy, who oversees the entire food service. She’s doing a BBQ today.
– There are vacancies @ the moment.

FAMILY HOSPICE CARE
Dr Howard Cohen
– People are referred to hospice by their doctors, care-givers, and/or families. Then they have a consult after an official request.
– Hospice patients must be within 6 months of the end-of-life (if their disease continues on it’s current course.)
– Older patients are more accepting of hospice than younger ones for obvious reasons.
– Dr. Cohen teaches medical residents about hospice and how to deliver the sometime very bad, negative news. There are protocol guidelines. NEVER over the phone, must be done in a face-to-face situation.
– The “hope” that hospice gives to a patient, comes under the heading of support and comfort.
– Good book called “The Four Agreements” for residents, doctors and care-givers.
– Hospice is about living not about dying.

– Discussion of the benefits for Veterans upon death. Forest Lawn give them a flag, a gun salute, and they have the right to be buried @ no cost @ Riverside Veterans Cemetery.
– His community events @ Forest Lawn are a great mix of older and younger folks.
