RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK w/ Jacky Donnell re: “Elmer’s Restaurant” 1030 E. Palm Canyon Dr., P.S.
– REPORT that Jacky is #1 out of the other 26 Elmer’s.
– REPORT on the Christmas schedule for serving; Open Christmas Eve Day (Sunday 24th) from 8 AM to 2 PM. Closed Christmas Day (Monday 25th).
– REPORT that most folks order Prime Rib for Christmas Dinner.
– REPORT that Elmers opened in Palm Springs in 1978.
– REPOR that Jacky started w/ Elmers in Boise, Idaho in 1979. She has done EVERY JOB from the bottom up.
– DISCUSSION that starting in Jan., the menu lay-out will be different. New mimosa recipes. For every one of the 3 featured items we are advertising Jacky will donate $1. To “Folds of Honor”.
– REPORT that there is currently no take-out orders unless you are ordering while seated and dining.
– DISCUSSION of the new menu items that are coming and that costs of some things has doubled. Jacky says this is the worst economy she has ever seen in CA. w/ her 45 years w/ Elmers.
– REPORT on the drinks, i.e. Mimosas, Bloody Marys, Wine, Beer etc.
– REPORT that they don’t really take reservations, but lines move quickly.
