CALIFORNIA DESERT CHORALE w/ Tim Bruneau, Artistic Director and Marisa Holladay
– REPORT on the make-up of the Chorale. Some pros and some amateurs. 42 members at this point in time.
– DEFINITION of a Chorale vs a Choir. Chorale seems to be more Community oriented.
– HOLD THE DATES;
– Sun., Dec., 10 and Sun., Dec., 17; 3 PM @ Hope Palm Desert (was Hope Lutheran Church) on Portola.
– DISCUSSION of the program w/ a small orchestra; some classical music, some popular music, some Christmas pieces. 90 minutes w/ an intermission.
– REPORT that the suggested donation is $20 @ the door. No reservations are required, just come. It’s the same performance each Sunday.
– DISCUSSION of how/when auditions are held to join the Choir. The intent is to get serious choir members.
– REPORT that the Choir does 2 Holiday Concerts each year; and in Feb., 25, a fundraising performance; 2 Spring concerts both in April; “Brahms, Billy, Birds and the Beetles”; April 12, EH Memory Care Benefit Concert @ the Rancho Mirage Amphitheater.
– DISCUSSION of Tim’s musical background and education.
