Seg 3 – Animal Segment

LISTEN TO THE COMPLETE SHOW FOR DETAILS OF SUBJECTS DISCUSSED IN THIS INTERVIEW.

Listen to Seg 3

ANIMAL SAMARITANS w/ Jarred Ellis 73407 Ramon Road, Thousand Palms.
– QUESTIONS FROM “JOEY PALS”
1. Can you explain the White House Dog “Commander” who has bitten people at least 12 times? (There are rules that when a dog bites the 1st time the owners are issued a warning, after a 2nd bit, the animal may be euthanized. There are dogs that suffer from PTSD, just as humans do and they require special handling and a special owner. The animal may have suffered abuse too. A lot of this comes down to training too.)
2. What is “re-homing” a dog? (Means the owners decide they don’t want the pet anymore. This is epidemic in our country now for lots of reasons.)
– REPORT that Animal Samaritans tries to do all they can for these folks and their unwanted animals. This is heartbreaking.
– REPORT that it may be possible to re-train a dog. Puppies are easiest, but older dogs can be re-trained too. Wendy does massage therapy for animals.
