PALM SPRINGS ART MUSEUM w/ Scott Slaven re: re: 101 N. Museum Dr. P.S. 92262.
– REPORT on how often the exhibitions are changed and the logistics involved w/ all of that organization.
– REPORT that there are over 12,000 objects in storage for the Museum’s permanent collection in units all over town. The cost of all that storage.
– REPORT that a new exhibition will open March 2. “Meditations in Glass”. Guest curator; Tina Oldknow talk @ 6 PM. She picked selected pieces from the permanent collection.
– REPORT that the Petra Cortright exhibition: Sapphire Cinnamon Viper Fairy will be closing Mar., 12.
– REPORT Ap., 8 a new exhibition will open, thru the generosity of Donna McMillan who just donated pieces of her own called; “So Many Songs We Have Yet To Play” This will run thru Sept., 3, 2023.
– DISCUSSION of ARTFUL EVENTS; i.e. a “Mardi Gras” Fashion Show w/ live model paintings on March 4.
– REPORT on the new exhibition by Palm Desert artist, Phillip K. Smith featuring “light” in all his works. “Phillip K. Smith III, Light and Change” there until May 7.
– REMINDER; Open Thurs., Fri., Sat., and Sun., 10 to 5 except Thurs. night from 12 to 8 and then admission is FREE due to City of Palm Springs from 5 to 8.
– REMEMBER; 3rd Sunday of Every Month is “Family Plus” FREE from 1 to 5 PM. Events/crafts etc.,
