FAMILY HOSPICE CARE w/ Dr. Howard Cohen, Medical Director and Ron Shonk, spiritual counselor. re: 255 El Cielo Rd., C-300, Palm Springs, CA. 92262.
– FHC provides “end of life care” to everyone in the Coachella Valley.
– FHC provides spiritual care/guidance w/ out any particular religious tone from Ron Shonk.
– “Hope” a reality and is everywhere.
– DISCUSSION of to what degree patients come to the end of their life w/ any spiritual bent. Studies support the power of prayer in dealing w/ death.
– DIISCUSSION of the fact that we are all connected w/ a reality beyond words…i.e. s.p.a.c.e. (Sacred Presence Always Containing Everything)
– Most difficult challenge in caring for FHC patients is in caring for the adult children.
– Calls life beyond this one….WOW.
