– This documentary is a “study” in how show business truly was.

– Her TV show w/ Eve Arden, “The Mothers-In-Law” was her favorite performing experience.
– Of her extensive TV, Broadway, Nightclubs, and Radio experiences….her favorite is Television.
– Sharing about being a regular on the Doris Day Show.

– 1.) Assisted Living – when you need a bit of extra care and safety. Individual apartments, studios, 1 and 2 bedrooms. Bring your cat and/or dogs.
– 2.) Mirage Inn Aging in Place – you transfer over and don’t have to physically move from the main property. Make your environment comfortable for you, can bring the animals too. When you need a bit more care than Assisted Living offers.
– 3.) Clare Bridge Memory Care – For folks w/ dementia and alzheimers, where routines are very structured.
– Security pendants and buzzers everywhere on the property.
– 2 to 3 Nurses there constantly and staff of all levels of expertise, depending on the level of care you need.
– All prescriptions and medications are dispensed by medical person.

– “Nurses Week” ends tomorrow w/ Mother’s Day. His 93 year-old mother is a retired R.N.
– Usually the daughter is the care-giver for the parents/Mother.
– Busy time for Family Hospice now.
– Sometimes people don’t need hospice yet, they need assisted living etc.,
– Families are so spread out and social media has separated us.
– Hospice in the U.S. takes place WHERE YOU LIVE.
– You must be diagnosed that you have 6 months or less to live to qualify for hospice.
– Need to determine your living conditions, i.e. hoarding, filth, fresh vs outdated food or prescriptions, shopping, pet care, etc., F.H.C. will help hire and maintain these situation.
– You can get better and come out of hospice.

– Memorial Day is for folks who paid the “ultimate price” for serving their country. Was Decoration Day originally. Veterans Day was originally Armistice Day and is for people who served in the armed services.
– Mother’s Day is a big day for visitation @ all Forest Lawn. Gates close @ dusk.
– Forest Lawn functions as “memory/heritage keeper” for America.
– 5/28 – Memorial Day Program @ Palm Springs Air Museum 3,000 red and white carnation flower drop is sponsored by Forest Lawn @ 1:30 right after the service @ Forest Lawn in Cathedral City.
– Have the conversation about your final requests w/ your family @ this point in time, because if you PLAN and PAY for your funeral, legally nothing can be changed.

Bev Greer re: CEO for 12 years.
– Since expanding the facility, they are seeing more Parkinson’s patients. NVC has individual boxing program. One patient to a therapist. Improves balance and gait just over the time the session takes.
– MS patients suffer more in the heat. NVC offers counseling and exercise programs.
– No indications of what causes Parkinsons or MS, but blood pressure is the greatest indicator of Stroke.
– More men have strokes than women, but more women than men die from stroke.
– The only facility of it’s kind in the World @ 2800 E. Alejo in Palm Springs.
– Shop @ Jackie Lee’s Thrift Shop.
– Re-freshing the building. Also need volunteers.

DESERT TRAUMA SURGEONS
Dr. Frank Ercoli, M.D., FACS, FCCM
– Over 50,000 patients have been treated @ the J.A. Richards Trauma center. Patients come from AZ., northern Mexico etc,.
– D.R.M.C. was designated a trauma center in 1980. Dr. Ercoli has been there 29 years, w/ Dr. Oscar Paz and they have seen over 45,000 of those 50,000 patients.
– Growth of trauma cases due to the growth in the Valley and increased area of service.
– Hansen House (similar to Ronald McDonald House) to provide services to patient’s family. It is a 501 C3 organization. 17 guest rooms. 11,000 sq. feet. Opened originally on 12.23.2003.
– Yearly “Festival in the Canyons” that began in 1996, now will be Sat., Nov.,3, 2018 @ the Air Museum benefit for Hansen House. Combined w/ Neo-natal intensive care unit @ D.R.M.C. (only one in the Coachella Valley) (www.hansonhouse.org) Originally was the “Smooth Jazz Festival” back in the Indian Canyons.
– Df. of trauma services and criteria provided by the 12 person Trauma Team @ D.R.M.C. His demeanor is really calm during crisis. He was taught by Dr. McKenzie to only be “concerned” not “worried”.
– Trauma repeats itself.
– The story of how/why he because a doctor and then a trauma and critical care surgeon.
– 4/24/18 – On winning the Richard Milanovich Community Service Award Winner presented by the P.S. Chamber, along w/ Dr. Oscar Paz.
