– The loose collection of musicians who performed in studios all over, for thousands of recordings.
– His fantastic history of playing on the records of everyone who recorded in the 60’s and 70’s.
– Besides being a pianist for the Wrecking Crew, he was musical director for Nancy Wilson, Johnny Mathis, Sonny & Cher etc., etc.,
– Was a classically trained musician who turned to jazz @ about 14. Started recording @ 19 on mono, then 2 track, etc.,
– Performed on so many hit records, i.e. for the Jackson 5 and “Strangers In The Night” for Frank Sinatra, The Righteous Brothers “Unchained Melody” etc., etc.,
– Recorded for Motown. Sometimes didn’t even know WHO the artist would be, they were just laying down the tracks.
