– DISCUSSION of lost dogs over July 4th. Go to www.nextdoor.com and post the info on your dog. Photo, reward etc.
– Go to any vet – FREE checking of a lost animal to find if the animal has a microchip.
– Coachella Valley Animal Campus (72050 Pet Land Pl, 1000 Palms, CA. 92276) is TOO FULL of lost animals from July 4th.
– It is illegal to leave a pet in a closed, hot car. DON’T WALK A DOG on hot pavements.
– Many animals are up for adoption right now.

– You can control your own heat/cooling in your apartment. You can do your own laundry or have housekeeping do it.
– Cosmos Club and Safari Lounge (4:30 PM “Happy Hour” every day). Themed events.
– Believe it or not, SUMMER is a good time for visiting parents and or children to check out the facilities for the future retirement. European residents. Families visit w/ Skype.

FAMILY HOSPICE CARE w/ Dr. Howard Cohen re: 255 El Cielo Rad., C-300, Palm Springs, CA. 92262.
– People are referred to hospice by their doctors, care-givers, and/or families. Then they have a consult after an official request.
– Hospice patients must be within 6 months of the end-of-life (if their disease continues on it’s current course.) – Older patients are more accepting of hospice than younger ones.
– Dr. Cohen teaches medical residents about hospice and how to deliver the sometime very bad, negative news. There are protocol guidelines. NEVER over the phone, must be done in a face-to-face situation.
– The “hope” that hospice gives to a patient, comes under the heading of support and comfort.
– Good book called “The Four Agreements” for residents, doctors and caregivers.
– Hospice is about living not about dying.

– There’s lots of help in learning how to live w/ a loss in your “grief recovery”.
