– REPORT on the efforts by the P.S. Air Museum for victims of Hurricane Hilary in Cathedral City organized by Fred Bell. For every $200.00 or more donation the Air Museum will provide a FREE ride on the C-47.

– REPORT on the Capital Campaign to expand the front of the building. Will be named the Ronald M. Auen Learning Center w/ 200 seat education/movie theater/lecture facility/classroom type of facility. There will be better “flow” entering the Museum, seating areas, modern looking etc. This is all part of STEM. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). PALM SPRINGS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT w/ Daniel Meier. Re: Deputy Director of Aviation, Marketing & Air Service @ Palm Springs International Airport.
– REPORT that temperatures can affect take-offs and landings. Even 747’s can land here. Pilots/airlines make the go or no go call.
– REPORT that the new website is up and running. i.e. TSA checkpoint wait times, lost and found etc.
– REPORT that Dec., 14 Alaska Airlines starts their new non-stop service from PSP to JFK. It will run 5 days a week thru April. And Jet Blue has the “red-eye” to New York as well.
– REPORT on the FUSE CONNECT coming on board to be the new in-terminal concession vendor. Lots of digital application.
– REPORT that the new concourse will open w/ all the new restaurants and shops will open this Fall. Trio and El Mirasol are coming into the Airport. Then there will be 6 restaurants.
– REPORT that there is a new website that will tell you what you can and cannot take. www.tsa.gov and go to the section “what can I bring”.
– REPORT on the new check-in procedure; i.e. TSA. (www.tsa.gov) US Global Entry; Clear (www.clearme.com). Now you don’t have to go to a TSA office, starting soon will just have to go to PSP.

RED JEEP TOURS “MOUNTAINS OF FUN” w/ Rick Curtiss re; 74-794 Lennon Pl., Ste., B. Palm Desert.
– REPORT on the damage from Hurricane Hilary to the San Andreas Fault Tour. Their premier tour. All the flood drainage came down into their tour channel that they drive thru for the Tour. Those channels were really damaged. They can repair it to a certain extent, but not back to the original appearance.
– DISCUSSION that if you want to see what water does to the desert, now is the time to take this tour.
– REPORT that October is their “back to regular schedule” month. Doing morning and afternoon tours again. 8 AM and 1 PM.
– REPORT They have 15 Jeeps and 2 SUVs. They have 40 drivers/guides. All are well-trained and make their own tours up. Although there is a list of required things to show on the tour. They run tours 7 days a week depending on the weather.
1. San Andreas Fault Tour – the regular main tour in the morning.
2. Indian Canyons – only in the weekends, weather permitting.
3. Still doing Joshua Tree – leave the Valley early to avoid the heat..
4. Cancelling the Painted Canyon Tour in the summer.
– REPORT that they are only doing one tour and get off the Desert floor before it gets hot. Start earlier.

– DISCUSSION of the 4 low carb flavors of breads he makes on Wednesdays. Also sugar buster bread as well.
– DISCUSSION. Also, he is making hamburger and hot dog buns. Pies and dinner rolls too.
– REPORT that everything is made from scratch, fresh every day.
– DISCUSSION of the tuna sandwich that was voted “Best in the Valley” by P.S. Life Magazine. Also the best bakery and sandwich shop.
– REPORT – All locations are closed on Sundays. Can dine inside and out @ all locations too. Still take-out of course.
– REPORT on the 30 different kinds of breads. No preservatives in any of their breads. Any bread “flavor” can be made into rolls. MAKE GREAT GIFTS.

– REPORT on the fact that we are now in respiratory infection Season, some Covid that actually developed in people who went to a hospital for SOMETHING ELSE and developed Covid while there.
– REPORT that Flu Vaccination Season is here and flu clinics & drive-thru vaccination centers for D.O.H.C. members are open. No co-pay for D.O.H.C. Seniors. Should vaccinate down to 6 months-olds. Pharmacies give out the most vaccinations. Quadravalent is the new vaccine, covers 4 strains of the flu virus. Predicted from the effect of flu in the Southern Hemisphere. This strain of flu is pretty bad in Australia, especially in the children.

1. Are paper straws now considered toxic? (Yes, because they contain “forever chemicals” as many things do. THEY NEVER GO AWAY. Stainless steel straws would be best. lol)
