– DISCUSSION of the Utility Sun Tax: AB 1139 and Net Energy Metering 3.0.
1. Will basically tax us for using the sun.
2. Go to www.marraintel.com for a great article summarizing this issue.
3. Utilities are trying to STOP solar w/ this bill. Vince feels this is very socialistic and anti-democratic.
4. Here in the Internet Age we need to use solar.
5. This bill speaks specifically to Renova’s “roof top” products and wants to prevent these installations.
6. YOU CAN ACTUALLY LEASE a solar system, solar is not just for the wealthy. Actually helps the lower income customer MORE than the Utilities do.
7. If this bill goes through and you ALREADY have solar, your bills will go back to the high bills you had before you put in solar!!!!
8. Last attempt by the Utilities to retain their monopoly on this industry. The Utility Company will NEVER lower your bills as going solar will.
9. DISCUSSION that there is a law in CA. requiring solar ON ALL NEW CONSTRUCTION in the state. CA. wants 100% renewable energy and what will happen to this law if this bill passes.

– REPORT that her book is “Pathways – A guide book for dementia and Alzheimer family caregivers”. You can get it from Amazon.
– REPORT that caregivers die @ a higher/faster rate than the people they are caring for. Need support.
– DISCUSSION that family members BELIEVE that they know better what their family member needs MORE than the professionals so. NOT TRUE and very hard on the caregiver that is not a professional.

1. REPORT on people who know their loved one has the beginning stages of the disease and are trying to provide memories for the patient? (Yes, BUT the memories will actually be for the surviving family member).
2. Is not being able to find the “right word” a sign of the onset of dementia? (Can be, but rule out OTHER THINGS, i.e. strokes, first).
– REPORT that “when you are 16 you don’t really have a very large file cabinet, but as you age, that file cabinet becomes VERY LARGE. You KNOW that you know the answer, but you need to go thru the file cabinet to get the answer. NOT A DISEASE, JUST LOTS OF INFORMATION in storage.

1. Why did the funeral home “dress” my loved one before cremation? (Usually family requests this dignified step).
2. When you lie in state and are going to be cremated, do you lie in a casket or a box of some type? (In a casket).
– DISCUSSION of how burial regimes have changed over the years. i.e. why there are earth mounds over graves because eventually the weight of the dirt will collapse into the earth and create a sunken space.
– REPORT on the fact that Forest Lawn has to adhere to OSHA rules and regulations, not the state of CA.
Different rules than for churches, etc.
– REPORT that Forest Lawn can have large gathering outside.
– DISCUSSION of Forest Lawn’s main goal to keep families and employees safe.

– DISCUSSION of Bootsy and Brenda who come up w/ the programs for clients. Many of the new skills learned will carry over to the “new normal”.
– REPORT that Parkinson patients HAVE to do their exercises every day.
– REPORT that Allan will focus on fund raising as well.
– REPORT that NVC is one of the few facilities in the world to service stroke patients as they do.
– REPORT that they are now affiliated thru CVAS and can get programs for many folks @ no charge.

– DISCUSSION of the attitude of returning clients as the “masks come off”. Lol. Clients have missed the community/socialization interaction w/ others in similar situations.

LOVING ALL ANIMALS w/ Michael Russell re: 83496 Ave., 51 in Coachella, CA.
– REPORT that as of last July they have NOT euthanized any dogs @ their facility.
– DISCUSSION that there seem to be more care needed for the animals. New challenges.
– REPORT that in 1998 the State of CA. said we had to end the euthanasia of animals by 2010. Didn’t happen by 2010, but did happen in 2020.
– DISCUSSION that we are ALWAYS in “kitty season”. We need to spay/neuter more. Vet services are starting to open back up w/ some restrictions. WE NEED TO FUND RAISE to cover these costs.
– LOVING ALL ANIMALS can micro-chip now since it is not considered a medical procedure. If you take an animal into a shelter YOU CAN NOT GET YOUR ANIMAL BACK if it is not micro-chipped.

– REPORT on the 30 different kinds of breads. No preservatives in any of their breads. They employ the services of a “bread chemist”. i.e. pumpkin chocolate chip bread, etc. MAKE GREAT GIFTS.
