– REPORT that the City is in a very difficult place W this point in time due to Covid and the cancellation of the Palm Springs International Film Festival this coming Jan. IT WILL BE BACK.
– DISCUSSION of the millions of dollars that are at risk during a production by a major studio, everyone understands why the PSIFF had to be cancelled.
– REPORT on the City’s Homelessness Situation.  Difficult and worse during Covid.  Unhoused (due to economic reasons) and the City is working to get them into housing and back to work.  The City has placed hundreds of these folks and is working extensively w/ charities, i.e. Martha’s Village.
– REPORT that many homeless are children and seniors.  IMPORTANT STATEMENT FROM THE MAYOR….when you see a homeless person and are tempted to give them some money, IT IS BETTER to buy them food, or take them to a shelter so they don’t spend the monies on drugs.
– REPORT on the statis of crime prevention in Palm Springs and the wonderful new police chief Andrew Mills.  We have very little crime compared to other communities.  Our tourist population and car thefts are tempting to criminals.

He was 6’ and 175 lbs. and then began football his senior year in high school.  Then Fred went to Northwestern University on a track scholarship and then switched to football under Coach Ara Parseghian.  Then he was drafted by the 49 ers. (starting salary was $9,500/year). He became a cornerback. He earned his nickname “the Hammer”.
– DISCUSSION of his becoming an original Raider from Pittsburgh.
– REPORT on his 5 years w/ the Raiders and then being traded to the Chiefs for 5 years and they ended up going to the 1st Super Bowl.

– REPORT on what 2022 will be.  Elmer’s is going strong.  2021 went very well for them, employees, staff, corporate, etc.
– REPORT that her priorities are keeping her staff and guests SAFE.
– REPORT on NEW items starting this week; stuffed hash browns (sausage, cheese, onions, eggs); veggie bowl (veggies, eggs, cheese, hash browns); meat bowl (bacon, sausage, ham, eggs, cheese and hash browns); savory crepes (turkey). BEST PRIME RIB for the price ANYWHERE…slow roasted in rock salt.
– REPORT that some items are HARD TO GET RIGHT NOW…but they will come back.
– REPORT that she is positive about 2022.  Still dining inside and out, (with heaters).
– RULES: inside dining and to go to the restrooms, required masks and proof of vaccination. Outside dining you don’t need either one.
