1. What does Brian think/know about insurance issues and homelessness? (To get access to health care you MUST have a permanent physical address. There are Medicare services available to some homeless folks. Can’t use the address of the rescue mission.)
– REPORT that Brian has been doing this for 17 years.
– REPORT on how Police Chief Andrew Mills is “on top” of the homeless issue here in Palm Springs.
– REPORT that his agency focuses on Medicare. Not many agents do this specialty. He will have on-line and in-person classes to attend to keep up w/ the changes. He has 42 agents that work under him.
– REPORT that Medicare is NOT just for older persons.
– DISCUSSION of his association w/ the clients from D.O.H.C. He is the LOCAL agent and phone number!!!!
– REPORT that there is no cost to help his clients make a sound decision about their Medicare needs and the clients DON’T PAY HIM.

– REPORT – Is my water safe? Do I need a water filter. (Water is tested 2500 times a year. Yes, it’s safe. No, you don’t need a filter.)
– REPORT – Why do I have white build-up on faucets and glasses? (Calcium and/or Magnesium. Our water has high mineral content. Not harmful and can be removed w/ vinegar).
– REPORT – Why does water sometimes look white or cloudy when it comes out of the faucet? (Those are air bubbles. Because of the pressure).
– REPORT – Why does my water smell like chlorine? (Because a small amt. of chlorine is added to meet drinking water regulations. Very safe to drink).
– REPORT – Do I need a water softener for my water? (DWA does not prohibit water softeners, but in some areas they are banned because of the discharge they might have.)
