– DISCUSSION of the Three levels @ Brookdale care are: 1.) Independent Living 2). Assisted Living and 3.) Memory Care. Only opening now is in Assisted Living.
– DISCUSSION of the gentle “movement” from level to level within the facility on Country Club.
– DISCUSSION of the ability to entertain family and friends @ Brookdale the much the same way as one would have in their own home…..actually much easier to do.
– 4/20 – Easter egg hunt for residents, their children and grand children and Kurt will be the Easter Bunny!!!
– 4/21 – Easter Dinner.
– 4/25 –“Sock Hop Dinner”
– This facility has 1. Arts & Crafts room; 2. “Cosmo Club” for gentlemen; 3. “Red Hat” ladies; 4. “Safari Lounge”; 5. “Cabaret Room” (where there are theater and live shows); 6. Outdoor heated pool. 7. Putting green.
– DISCUSSION of the mental and physical advantages to living in this environment…..hopefully longer and better.

– DISCUSSION w/ JEAN about Threshold Choir’s services and mission. The Choir will sing to patients in their home, in the hospital, @ the bedside, memorial services, graveside services, etc., Not just for FHC patients, and sometimes even for PETS!!!
– Threshold Choir is actually an International Organization since 2001. 200 Chapters all over the World. All choirs are acapella. Small, intimate groups of singers, who even bring their own stools to sit on.
They can sing in other languages as well.
– Threshold Choir motto is “Kindness Made Audible”.
– Family Hospice Care provides Hospice Care to thousands of people throughout the Coachella Valley and Hi-Desert Communities since 2006. Hospice takes place where you live.

– DISCUSSION of the move of the Jackie Lee Thrift Shop moving to Angel View facility on Indian Canyon and their new partnership.
– DISCUSSION of the fact that they did this in order to create space needed to serve the needs of Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients.
– DISCUSSION of the fact that then they can eventually serve folks w/ diabetes, cardio-vascular, who are frail, etc.
– The NVC Alzheimer’s and Dementia facility will have a new, secure entrance around back, a view the mountains, view of the planes landing and taking off, etc. Hope to open this aspect the end of May. It’s all renovations, not new construction. NVC is 41 years old.
– Most people come to the NVC on the Sunline Bus Line. NVC also has vans.
