– DISCUSSION of all the classes D.O.H.C. has now for all phases of childbirth and the preparation of same. Many are virtual. New role for Sandra w/ D.O.H.C.
– DISCUSSION that she offers classes, one-to-one classes, access to phone calls from gals @ all stages of pregnancy, delivery, nursing etc. ALL CLASSES ARE FREE.
– TOPIC FOR TODAY; HOW TO TRANSISITON INTO BEING A GRANDPARENT;
1. Keep active, both mentally and physically. Gives you a purpose as we age. Helps w/ cognitive issues and fights depression.
2. Grandparents offer cultural enforcement.
3. Provides a sense of excitement; Stay positive, stay flexible, be careful about the first hospital visit.
4. Listen and differ to the new parents when it comes to a new baby. Have these conversations before the baby is born.
– REPORT that newborns stay in the room w/ the Mother. No nurseries anymore. Better for baby.
