RED-JEEP TOURS w/ Rick Curtiss re:
– REPORT on the real Pink Door house in S. Palm Springs on Sierra Way.
– DISCUSSION of snakes; all snakes are cold-blooded or ectothermic, because they get their internal temperature from the outside temperature. Joey’s Koi Fish go into stasis type of brumation.
– REPORT that some snakes lay eggs (overvigorous – where we get the word viper from) but as soon as they are laid, they hatch. Other snakes lay eggs, and they take a while to hatch.
– REPORT that the Mohave Green is possibly the most dangerous snake in the Valley.
– REPORT that snakes can strike from any position, not just coiled. Can strike up to 1/3 of it’s body length.
– DISCUSSION that NO snake is poisonous, they are venomous, which must be injected directly into the blood system.
– REPORT that young snakes are more dangerous than older snakes. Older snakes can regulate the amt. of energy it takes to express venom. Young snakes can’t regulate their venom, so they will give you ALL the venom they have. IF YOU GET A SNAKE BITE, GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM.
– DISCUSSION of a Rick w/ a sting ray that is incredibly soft-skinned.
