– REPORT on the success of “Men of the Desert”. Was held on Sun., Dec., 8. Raised over $280,000.
– REPORT on the mama dog and 9 puppies that were left on the doorstep of the shelter. DON’T DO THAT. IT’s EVIL and ILLEGAL to abandon animals. Everyone is ok now. Photos on the website. www.animalsamaritans.org/adopt.
– REPORT on 77840 Flora Road in Palm Desert is the temporary location for the Clinic. Same phone, etc., There until March.
– HOLD THE DATES:
1. Fri., Jan., 17 – Booze Hounds “Yappy Hour” @ 2080 N. Palm Canyon from 4 – 6 PM. Bring a $10 donation @ the door. Food, drinks w/ heaters. Bring your friendly, leased doggies.
2. Sat., Jan., 18 Adoption. 11 AM – 1 PM @ PetCo on 111 in Palm Desert and find a “forever” pet.
3. First Sat., every month; Adoption. 11 AM – 1 PM Pet Smart on Monterey in Palm Desert.
– REPORT on the Adoption fees are $90 for kitties and $250. for puppies.
– DISCUSSION of how new owners are vetted. AND bring your current dog w/ you to see if the two are compatible.
– REPORT on how they have rescued over 16,000 animals from the County Shelters. There is a full-time staff member from Animal Samaritans who helps save the pets and get them the services they need.
