– DISCUSSION of the preparation of the City of Palm Springs in the event of a fire such as the L. A. Fire.
– REPORT that Palm Springs has;
1. Enough firemen
2. Enough fire hydrants
3. Enough reservoirs
4. Enough weed abatement programs and monitoring
– DISCUSSION of the on and off working schedules for our Fire Department. There are ALWAYS enough Fire Fighters on hand. NO MATTER WHAT.
– DISCUSSION of how DWA manages the fire hydrants.
– DESCRIPTION of how the relay pumping works on the fire trucks.
– DISCRIPTION of how many feet from your home the brush must be cleared.
– REPORT that the new Fire Chief wants the department to actively recruit new members. They are going to “fire academies”, schools, etc to share the news. NO OTHER CITY IS DOING THIS.
– REPORT of the basic requirements. Age, education, etc.
– REPORT of the recruitment process the Fire Department is going through now. How to apply and what the training regime is and what the many benefits are to being a member of the Palm Springs Fire Dept.
