– DISCUSSION of the ranking of officers in the “military-like” Fire Department. Both men and women can be in the P.S. Fire Department.
– DESCRIPTION of how heavy the back packs are that firemen wear. Depends on how much equipment you have. Usually about an extra 100 lbs.
– REPORT that the new Fire Chief wants the department to actively recruit new members. They are going to “fire academies”, schools, etc to share the news. NO OTHER CITY IS DOING THIS.
– REPORT of the basic requirements. Age, education, etc.
– REPORT of the recruitment process the Fire Department is going through now. How to apply and what the training regime is and what the many benefits are to being a member of the Palm Springs Fire Dept.
– DISCUSSION of how to how to get more information.
