FOREST LAWN w/ Larry Davis re: 69855 E. Ramon Rd., Cathedral City, CA. 92234. Indio and Coachella locations also. He’s the Vice President of Forest Lawn.
QUESTIONS from “Joey Pals”
1. How are remains handled after exposure to the water/surge of the Hurricane in Florida? (Coroner’s office will handle them w/ dignity as usual. Divers are used if necessary. After identification by the family the chosen mortuary will handle the remains in a respectful, regular manner. Burial or cremation is still possible, of course.)
– REPORT on the stories of people who survived the Hurricane under horrific circumstances he has heard from his connections in Florida.
– DISCUSSION of how folks handle it when no body is found…..they tend to hope that they are alive SOMEWHERE. Examples of deaths in WWII and the burial in Europe.
2. Does an event such as the Hurricane cause caskets to “float up to the surface”? (Not really, Florida is pretty flat and this would be more likely to happen where cemeteries are on hills.)
3. The Governor of CA. has said that human remains can be used for compost. Is this true? (Still has to be legally accepted in the Community in which this would be done. To be continued.)
– REPORT on how/why Queen Elizabeth’s casket if lead-lined.
– HOLD THE DATE: Nov., 2, the FREE “Day of the Dead” in Cathedral City. 4 – 6 PM.
– (contact info: www.forestlawn.com and (760) 328-3112).
