RESTAURANT OF THE WEEK w/ George Kessinger re: “Crazy Mel’s Burgers and Bar”. 166 N. Palm Cyn., Dr., Palm Springs, CA. 92262.
– REPORT on the installation of “Forever Marilyn” visible from “Crazy Mel’s” on 6.20. Her toes were re-painted too and her beautiful red lips as well.
– DISCUSSION of the view of “Forever Marilyn” right down the double yellow line (“yellow brick line”) from Marilyn to “Crazy Mel’s”.
– REPORT on the memorabilia for Marilyn inside “Crazy Mel’s”. i.e. Marilyn wine he bought years ago, all the photos, pictures donated from fans, draft beer, etc.
– REPORT on the red Marilyn t-shirts for sale for $15.
– DISCUSSION of the drama surrounding the return of “Marilyn Forever”. Her bday was June 1, 1924.
– REPORT on being the ONLY RESTAURANT w/ a full view of “Forever Marilyn”.
– DISCUSSION of the tour buses that will be coming to view Marilyn. As the P.S. Follies buses use to do. So good for the businesses in Palm Springs. Kudos to the City Council for re-installing “Forever Marilyn”.
– REPORT they are open 6 days a week, closed on Tuesdays. 11 AM to 8 or 9.
– REPORT that when Street Fair returns on July 1, it will be in the shape of a “t”. Down Palm Canyon and across @ Museum Way.
– DISCUSSION of the food; i.e. Marilyn Burger (“Some Like It Hot” burger); the hamburger is rib, chuck and brisket.
