PALM SPRINGS CITY COUNCIIL w/ Mayor Pro-tem Lisa Middleton re; 3200 E. Tahquitz Cyn., Way, Palm Springs, 92262.
– REPORT on the spirit of the City as we start to return to the “new normal”.
– REPORT on the major issues for the Council. 1. Get a budget passed. ($128 million budget; more park maintenance; more for police and fire; more for information technology; better paved streets to help promote tourism). 2. New city manager, Justin Clifton will hire a new police chief. 3. Focus on our homeless citizens. Additional issues of mental illness and addiction and the resources the Council is asking for. Goal is to have a safe environment, w/ counseling available to enable them to return to society.
– REPORT that P.S. Police Chief Brian Reyes will be retiring. Praise for his years of service. His credibility w/ his department and the community.
– REPORT on when Lisa will become the Mayor. The workings of our system of City Council government.
