– Stay hydrated in the heat, especially when celebrating Cinco de Mayo.
– Watering yards/plants for smaller times, several times a day is better. Less run-off too.
– Watering @ night is ok too.
– Smart controllers from DWA have a weather station of sorts to “sense” when to turn off your system. $100. Rebate on the controller and $100. Rebate on the installation of the meter.
– This year was a very dry year….but we have a lot of water in storage from 2017….but bills may go up in July as part of the 5 year rate increase plan.
– Work on pipelines, take care when you spot the crews working. A stretch of Ramon will be repaired during the Summer.
– Butterfly Gardens is a project w/ P.S.H.S. and DWA and painted it, 40 feet wide in front of the building. P.S.H.S. garden club came out and planted in front of the art work @ DWA on Date Palm.

– Utility bills will go up this summer.
– Lead time for installation of solar now is about 2 to 3 months.
– Actual installation is 3 to 4 days, but there’s paperwork for HOA, Cities, etc.,
– 5 X 3 foot panels by SunPower. All black that look nice, like a black skylight. Solar Rights Act of CA. protects folks from HOA restrictions.
– Everyone who comes into your home to sell you anything, MUST HAVE A Home Improvement Sales Persons License. (HIS license)
– Cut your electric bills right out of the box and for no money down.

BREAKING NEWS…..6/1 “Queen of the Desert” celebrity guest host will be Lypsinka!!!!!!!!
– Ron Wilson manages “Queen of the Desert” w/ Joey English and Kaye Ballard judging, along w/ Lypsinka and Dottie and Maude!!!!!
– Event will be held @ the P.S. Cultural Center. Possibly only 1 slot left for the contestants.
– Event is almost sold out.

– Over 75 restaurants participated. Big increases in funding from last year. Elmers and Oscars were new this year.
– Personal donations were up this year.

– Revivals and Mr. Community are getting awards….Ross Matthews, etc., will be honored.
– Jennie McClean will be installed as new Chamber President.

– 32 McDonalds stores….18 in the C.V., all in Redlands, 5 in Riverside and 5 in Temecula.
– UberEats App….customer decides they want some food i.e. @ Coachella Fest. Go to the App. Menu comes up. Driver goes to nearest McDonalds and then he delivers to you.
– You can now order from your car…. Voice will ask you….same order, same credit card, tells you next closest McDonald, tells you parking space, etc.,
– Kiosk, Mobile app, bigger and better ordering system.
– Report on Orlando, FL. Meeting of 25,000 folks representing 37,000 Restaurants in 140 countries.
– Using fresh quarter pounder meat now….not frozen.
Soon in chicken breast. Different cooking methods, but most danger is in the handling of the meat, not the meat itself…might have been in the lettuce, washing procedure etc.,
– USDA has adopted several McDonald’s safeguards.
– Increased emphasis on sustainability, recyclable packaging, etc.,
– Ronald McDonald House – i.e. one in Loma Linda has just doubled in size. Nearly 80% of the clients there come from the Coachella Valley. Hansen House @ D.R.M.C. is patterned after Ronald McDonald House.
– Hamburgers are cooked on a grill w/ a top and bottom. No more flipping of burgers.

– April is “Sexual Assault Awareness Month”. 1 in 5 women have been raped in their lifetime. Over 50% of Sexual Assault Cases are not reported. A sexual assault case happens every 2 minutes.
– The stereotype of sexual assault is that you “asked for it”, you were dressed inappropriately, you went there knowing it was dangerous.
– On College Campuses, “Yes means Yes”…..”No” doesn’t necessarily mean “no”, because you may be unable to say “no”.
– ONLY Eisenhower Health has a private SART room, because your body can be evidence as a crime scene… is on call 24/7. The longer you take to report, the less evidence that can be collected. Don’t shower, go to the restroom, etc., Males are sexually assaulted to a large extent…..Children too. Anyone over the age of 12 can consent to a rape kit.
– ONLY Eisenhower Health has a RAD (rapid dna result) program….if patients from other hospitals can’t get to EH, they will go to them.
– Katy is a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) are a part of the SART Team. 5 parts of the SART Team – Nurses, law enforcement, advocates, crime lab and D.A.’s office.
