PALM SPRINGS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT w/ Daniel Meier. Re: Deputy Director of Aviation, Marketing & Air Service @ Palm Springs International Airport.
– CONTINUING REPORT that the Palm Springs International Airport has received $5.7 million dollars from the Department of Transportation to improve, renovate and expand the baggage handling facility. Needs the expansion as the airport is soooo busy.
– REPORT on the Master Plan. Will be a 30-month process. The airport wants public input for suggestions. Visible on the website; www.palmspringsairportmasterplan.com Will guide the airport for the next twenty years.
– REPORT on possible electric planes and that there may be a vertiport to land electric aircraft probably used for short-range flights at first!!!!!
– DISCUSSION that Vertiports are in the works now. United has electric aircraft in development now.
– REPORT on how the fueling happens for the Airport.
– DISCUSSION of what type of fuel different planes use.
– REPORT that the new concourse will open w/ all the new restaurants and shops will open this Fall.
– REPORT that there is a new website that will tell you what you can and cannot take. www.tsa.gov and go to the section “what can I bring”.
– REPORT on the new check-in procedure; i.e. TSA. (www.tsa.gov) US Global Entry; Clear (www.clearme.com). Now you don’t have to go to a TSA office, starting soon will just have to go to PSP.

– REPORT of the Indian Canyons Tour. The flowers, the streams are all running out of their banks. It’s cooler there. HAS THE BIGGEST CA. FAN PALM OASIS in the World!!!

– DISCUSSION of the training the almost 40 guides go thru.
– REPORT that there are 4 major tours 1. San Andreas Fault Tour in a Jeep; 2. Indian Canyons Tour in a Jeep w/ hiking; 3. Joshua Tree National Park Tour in SUVs w/ some hiking; 4. Painted Canyons Tour in Mecca Hills in a Jeep, w/ emphasis on agriculture in the Valley.

4. Is there a genetic test to show your Alzheimers risk? (Yes, there are genetic markers, such as 23 and Me.)
5. Are vaccinated (COVID) people less likely to die from ANY CAUSES? (Yes, but not because of the vaccine, probably because they are more diligent about their overall health care regime.).

1. What are the issues involved w/ having an altercation w/ an uninsured motorist? (Your own insurance for bodily injury will cover your problem w/ an uninsured motorist.).
2. If someone drives your car once in a while, do I have to insure that person? (It’s called permissive insurance and as long as that person DOES NOT live in your house, they can drive your car once in a while, as long as they have an active license.)
3. Read that Medicare and Medicade will be gone in CA., (Not true. Medicare will go to everyone who has worked all their life, automatically. Medicare B must be requested. Then you can get the Medicare Supplement or the Advantage Plan.)
4. Will drivers pay less for insurance in Feb., in CA? (Insurance is really difficult NOW. IF YOU ARE ONE DAY LATE paying your premium, the insurance companies will probably NOT RENEW YOU.)

– REPORT that the whole office is bi-lingual.
– REPORT that the office does the paperwork…a lot of it on-line and over the phone.

– REPORT on the market as we near March. Lots of mixed messages. DATA says; Jan., and Feb., of ’22 Brady predicted peak of market. From Jan., 1 to Feb., 15 of ’22, 1200 buyers closed real estate transactions in the Coachella Valley. Same time in ’23 went down 50%. BUT prices didn’t fall.
– REPORT that the medium price actually went UP. Fewer sellers had an opportunity to sell, because fewer buyers were out there.
