1. The Duke University study; wear a multi-layered cotton mask, or a surgical mask, or a medical grade chemical mask, those did well in the study.
2. DOHC members will have the FREE “rapid-id” test w/ results in 5 minutes soon. Especially valuable for candidates for surgery, etc. Premier Urgent Care in Indio will do this rapid test for $100.
– EXPLANATION of why everyone doesn’t have the “rapid-id” test as Premier Urgent Care does.
3. BIG EFFECT TRIAL going on now. Study of drugs that now in existence that might have a positive effect on COVID-19. i.e. cloned antibodies.
4. REPORT on the decoys possibly being sent to our receptors to draw the virus to it.

– She’s a Licensed Clinical Social Worker @ D.O.H.C. Behavioral health therapy, crisis intervention etc.
– DISCUSSION of the emotional issues people are experiencing during this Pandemic.
1. Emotional issues “bleed” into the physical, financial and family issues going on at the same time.
2. Normal to lose track of time, dates, etc. when you are anxious.
3. Women are impacted differently w/out the usual “breaks” we use to have and tend to hold themselves to a “false perfection”.
4. Women and “caregiving burnout”. Working from home, w/ the kids.
a.) Create a balanced routine.
b.) Have clear communication. Watch “acting out” is not what it seems.
c.) Make some time for yourself.
d.) Exercise. Sitting in front of the TV/screen/Ipad/tablet/computer, etc. is just passively absorbing information that is done FOR YOU.
e.) Breathe. Breathe deep enough to clear your lungs.
f.) Maintain you regular routine of dental and doctor appointments.
5. Important to get up, shower, dress as though you were GOING to work and you’ll feel better about yourself working @ home.

“My Wild Ride on a Carousel” w/ Bill Jones re: By the caterer who couldn’t cook.

– REPORT on “Maracas, Rancho Mirage”. – new covered patio, fans etc. New menu and soon a new drink menu. Take out. “Great Plates” program w/ Rancho Mirage to feed elderly/shut-in’s etc., Across the street from Costco.
– REPORT on “J.T.’s Diner” – hopes to get on the “Great Plates” program. Open 8 AM to 2 PM, Wed., – Sunday. “Contactless delivery” w/ all precautions. Patio dining and take-out.
– REPORT on “Slice”. Jack has fully remodeled “Slice”. Next door from “Maracas” in Rancho Mirage. Developing a “take out” area. Will be more Italian Deli. $10. Bottle of wine available w/ your take-out as long as the bottle is not opened in the car.
– REPORT on “Maracas, Palm Springs”. Revamped the inside bar area. (not open yet) Patio area is observing ALL precautions. Challenges other restaurants to do the same. Will be increasing the outdoor frontage on Palm Canyon and have 4 more tables for outdoor dining. Fenced off w/ umbrellas.
– REPORT on the demeanor of some of his out-of-town diners who are a bit belligerent about masks, etc. “Can’t get passed without a mask”. “Maracas” will furnish masks if you don’t have one.
